HELP: Looks like my Amplifier is missing on used 335D
Hey guys,
I am trying to figure out what is going on with the audio on my used BMW 335D. Apparently it has the following options: 13 speakers, plus digital amp Hint: look inboard of the mirrors at the A pillar...tweeters? Yes & Center speaker in Dash: Yes? -->Top HiFi Harman Kardon (Option 688), however when I go into the trunk it looks like the AMP is missing and all of the wiring as well. See pics below: View post on imgur.com The audio works in the car, but the front speakers sound very faint. Will the audio work without the amplifier? I want to see if its as simple as buying a new amplifier and installing it. It also doesn't look like their is any wiring in the amplifier section and there was a small wiring harness that was cut. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys! |

I think you might have done this but.
Run a Vin checker and see if the option is listed. In the US the only time there was not amplifier was 2010 to 2011.5 No tweeters and no center dash speaker indicates the base system. That does look like a mounting bracket. I would take up the trunk floor and see what is there. Put up a picture. Last edited by ctuna; 01-20-2021 at 03:44 PM.. |

I see no link and I hate apps that I don't already have.
A lot of people used to use those apps to document there installs then the Hosting company's decided it would be a pay for it option and some really nicely documented installs disappeared as far as the pictures were concerned. Someone must have modified the car. or 330d's are somehow different. Although that seems pretty far fetched. Take off the side cover over the rear wheel or use a mirror and start looking for the harness or amp. |

Provided you have the harness still, all you'll need is a logic 7 amplifier, and some coding. Any signs of water ingress? It's possible water got in the trunk and killed the original amplifier. |
