Msport pedals with modified replica G30 dead pedal cover installed on an e90

I finally got around to installing the

"Genuine BMW M Performance Stainless Steel Pedal Set - Auto 35002232278" that I bought from bimmerworld

The set fits most cars so nothing is exciting there.

My addition was to add a modified ebay G30 dead pedal cover to it.

This offers an alternative to installing the M3 pedal and this is a better match to the msport pedals IMO (given that it is a knockoff).

I did end up drilling and chamfering the aluminum to make sure it was secure. The 2 sided tape they provided actually did a good job but I thought it would be better screwed down and I think the screws I chose match well.

I wasn't actually expecting the M logo, it didn't have it in the listing. My e70 dead pedal appears to have the same insert without the "M" so if I get picky someday maybe I will buy an e70 version and swap out the stainless for one without the logo.

Here is the modded part before drilling. Comparing it to the aliexpress pic shows how much I cut it down.

Here is what it looks like on aliexpress.

It is listed as: "No Drilling AT For BMW 5 Series G30 G38 520i 530i 540i 2017 2018 LHD Car Fuel Gas Brake Foot Rest Pedal Pad Cover Replace Trim"

Yes I looked at a lot of different listings to see which I thought would have the right shape and if it could be cut down...

I also got the knockoff pedal covers which were not too bad but I found that the gas pedal needed a modification or it stopped full throttle. I ended up using those on my e70 with several mods.

The aftermarket "no drill" pedals are better if you drill them like the BMW ones. I bought the appropriate hardware and drilled mine. The dummy allen head screws and nuts can be removed and replaced. I also cut down the aftermarket accell pedal a lot to remove the part that normally holds it because it was preventing WOT. I can post a pic of the e70 install later if there is interest.
