Yes, though a highly subjective observation, the back end definitely feels more firm/solid, much more "of a piece". This is judging from only a small amount of driving since install, but it's a significant difference.

And as to your choices, I read through all the reviews/opinions I could find and concluded that the AKG 95As were right choice for me.

Have fun!

I don't know whether to go for M3 ones or solid aluminium...

The new bearings I used came from MFACTORY.

How much cheaper would this be rather than buying the full pumpkin?

Interested in this as well. It's cheaper to buy just the diff than it is to get the whole pumpkin but how much can we expect to pay in labor for installing the diff versus doing a pumpkin swap?

Guys. I'm only here because I got a PM related to another thread. I'm not active on here any more because my E90 was moved in for a Giulia Quad.
I saved a considerable amount by doing the labour myself. It's a pretty technical job. The problem I had at the time was, there wasn't the pumpkins available to fit the diff into to sell. So I had to do it myself.
M-factory had a UK dealer, I'm pretty sure they still will. They sold the pumpkins or seperate diff.

Does any 50mm axle wrench work to remove the differential? I found the part below:
