non RFT 18" tyre pressures?

I've done a fair bit of searching this and can't seem to find a definitive answer. I am running the pressures as recommended on the pillar sticker although thats confusing as there is 2, one with a star next to it. Are the star pressures for when using snow chains?
Anyway, is that what you do or should I be adding a bit for the weaker sidewalls?

Thanks.

I run mine at 36psi front and 38psi rear.

Don't really pay any attention to the sticker on the door shut.

I have 235/45/R17 Y97 XL and run at Front:32, Rear:36 psi. The XL may give a slightly choppier ride anyway but I like a smoother ride over absolute handling as the roads where i live a fubrd.

The star on the sidewall of your tyre denotes you have run flats, so that is the marking
you follow, cheers,D.

The star on the tires means the tires are BMW approved tires (star rated)nothing to do with Runflat designation.
There are two pressures noted, one for single occupancy (typically driver only) and fully loaded (four passengers and luggage).
If you have a M-spot model there will also be an additional sticker for "speeds over 100 MPH".
Follow the pressures listed for the best ride and handling when using either runflat or conventional tires.

I use Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy 3 in 18" on my 330i. I generally use 36psi on the front and 38psi on the rear or sometimes 40psi with a full load.
