Thanks for sharing.

I prefer the other one which sticks next to your display screen. It sits higher up and easier to look at. However wiring is more pain in the bum to run from there to central console.

Hi guys. Just wanted some advice on what I'd need to do to get the full features here. I've just purchased a 330i e92 and just found that it's been fitted with a kufatec fiscon bluetooth unit. Now I checked my car spec and it says I've got control for combox. To have the fiscon does this need to be installed anyway?
I can't see one in the boot of the car.
I'd like to get most of the features as mentioned in the first post here.
I've got a cic as my car is a sept 2010 car lci.
Would the fiscon unit need to be taken out?
I've got a usb under the armrest and it says aux.
Any advice would be great.
Many thanks

Sounds like you have a combox installed! Check the spec & see if you have bluetooth prep... if so, you might only need coding to active bluetooth!

The Fiscon unit has volume codes on it, IIRC you should have it on the middle setting. I can't remember the actual code but it should be in your IDrive phone settings, failing that the unit is usually behind the CCC/CIC try checking the mic lead is connected and the cable isn't pinched anywhere. If you haven't got a CD multichanger the unit should also stream music via bluetooth.

Thanks Sam

I made the trip to see Sam on Saturday for a full CIC / Combox upgrade from the old CCC system in my 330d.

Sam has excellent skills and a genuinely nice guy to boot. The install went perfectly with a full demonstration and loads of additional features now available. The car now feels truly modern, it just transforms it and is by far the best investment to date.

I'm a bit of a picky sod but highly recommend Sam to anyone considering any install or coding work, super quick and efficient. Sam even downloaded the BMW Connected App to my phone so we spent a moment listening to radio in Australia and Tunisia!! plus the 2015 maps, phone tethering, USB, internet, Bluetooth streaming the list goes on!!

Sam - Two things : -

1.) The cabin timer works!! Set cooling to come on at 5.25pm, waited patiently and sure enough!

2.) I found the tenner stuck between the seat frame and tunnel!! Lol

Thanks again Sam, I will be in contact once I've sourced the mirrors and sorted the suspension, swirl flaps and map.

Thanks for the comprehensive feedback mate.

Funny that I never tried the timer....and good to know about it and can be used during summer times.

re: Tenner..... see what I said

Nice to meet you mate and it was pleasure to hear your experience re; holidays and tales of what you have done.

Good luck with searching mirrors and hopefully we can get that done as well.

Hi Makaan,
This is the best CIC retrofit DIY I have ever seen on any forums.
As everybody said with that 2nd pic, I would have heart attack if it would be my car....most awesome retrofit
I have few questions about leaping from CCC nav to CIC retrofit. I have '06 E90 330i, sports package with integrated nav, bluetooth phone, voice control, sirius xm. What parts do I need to do CIC retrofit+(combox in the near future)? And coding requirements? Geniuses like you makes this forum more than awesome.
Thank you in advance

There was nothing missing from this 11 plate e93 but owner wanted New Big Thing (NBT) which was retrofitted without fuss!

How well do the NBT controllers fit the CIC centre console trim?

Also is it much more expensive going straight to NBT rather than CIC if you don't have any Nav?

It will fit fine and requires some modification.

Yes, fitting NBT cost more than CIC if you do not have Nav. Reason... NBT and emulator for NBT are still fetching good premiums.

Hi am really interested in your retrofit but could have few issues, I have CIC system in my 2011 bmw 318d and have updated to motion 2016 maps west europe, have bmw 606 nav not 609 but I can play music from my bluetooth phone thru the car audio unit, the car previously had internet access but is now chargeable, there is definitely a com box in the boot but does not have 6nr,6fl and 6nf connected but it does have 6vc also i have the smaller screen in the same housing but has 2 black areas each side would this need changed as well, also there is no usb socket in the armrest (only in glovebox)lust a 3.5mm aux socket, i can supply you pics, and my vin no can you give me an idea of the cost, time etc as I live in Scotland, looking forward to hearing from you

thanks

Gery

Makkan00 I have sent you PM but your inbox is full. Any chance you can send me a PM as I am interested in having my vehicle coded by yourself, and I would also like to discuss further options with you.
