Random no start issue on 2006 BMW 330

Recently purchase a 2006 BMW 330i that has a random no start issue. First start of the day always starts up with no issues. After being driven it will randomly not start. No crank nothing. Let the car sit and it will start back up. Sometimes it will start up 30 min later sometimes it takes a couple hours. I've tried jumping the car and it wont start. I've tried connecting a jumper cable from the jump start ground in the engine bay to the bolt on the oil filter housing doesnt make a difference. I do not have any check engine codes. I'm hoping its not the starter but I don't know what else it could be. I'm about to take to the dealership since it does need two recalls done for it. One for the HVAC and for the PVC Valve heater.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could be the starter or could be a grounding issue. It could be many thing really but those two are most likely.

thanks that helps alot. I wasn't sure if it could still be the ground strap if the car wouldn't start when I tried using jumper cables to ground it.

Starter. 100% people do not want it to be because the labor that is involved, but someone that has an 06 and has gone through this, change it.

Thanks. I checked ground strap for the starter this morning. Its green going to change that first. If it is the starter its going to an indie.

Sounds like a worn bushing within the starter, landing on a dead spot. Recommend replacing starter
