All I'll say is that I'm glad I was the other side of the lens or I'd have Floyd's issues!

Oh man, I wish I hadn't of missed this one - looks as if y'all had a great time!
The pictures, as usual, looked great (Matt - you da man!). I've enjoyed reading all the stories. And, knowing this gang, I ain't surprised about any of the stories - especially Viv's propensity to, shall we say, remain directionally challenged! I'm glad y'all had a good time ... just jealous as heck that I missed it. And, I stick by my original thoughts from UK1 and UK2 - the BMW is a GORGEOUS car and you guys are a great group. So, when is UK4 so's I can make it (anytime after June 1...)?! Mickey

Hi Marilyn,
Great to hear from you! We certainly missed you, it was nowhere near as "sick!" without you there We'll keep you posted on UK4 developments as soon as we get something sorted Matt.

It was great having you at the meet as an International member & we hope you enjoyed the day. Hopefully, we (I really mean beauforty!) won't have passed on too many bad habits to the Canadian members & for your next meet?! Gordon has now been banished to the 'secret' kitchen for a while, until he calms down a bit! Floyd, I think we all had a great Saturday night- I loved it! Quote:
We really did have a particularly 'nauseous' time, as you'd put it! All the best. Viv |

I've also got a sigma 12-24 which is surprisingly good for a cheepo lens. Don't overlook a 50mmf1.4 prime...great little lens. Also had a look at the pics..none of the cars have any colour !! Good job I didn't spoil that look with my montego blue

Thanks for the suggestions red.
The 16-35 had slipped completely under my radar, whilst I have been considering the 50mm f1.4 prime as a stopgap and something lighter for walking around with. Although Sigma seem to get some good reviews these days my opinion of them was destroyed by a series of soft lenses in my film days. My photography tends to be outdoors so I don't need a super fast lens. However, the precision autofocus with f2.8 or better lenses means that I'd like to get a fast lens anyway. Weather sealing is also a consideration for outdoor use. All I need the wider lens for really is to get closer than half way across the carpark. The 70-200 is the best lens I've owned without a doubt. The only down side is the minimum focal distance . So many options... I just need a wallet to match The UK bunch are a seriously monochromatic group. It's about time someone showed up and injected a bit of colour into proceedings The problem of having a longer lens than those about you:

I was thinking about sticking the plate covers on it, just to make it look like one of our 'transport' vehicles! It looks you're are going to have to let the air out of your seat's side supports now, Paul! Viv |

I did PM Jason back in October of last year (after UK2) but got no reply. Perhaps time to try again

Got bored sitting at home with a stinking cold, so threw together a collection of stills of all the UK meets so far:

It's great to see shots from all the meets in one place. Thanks Tony! We're still a little way behind in the number of our meets, compared to yourselves, but we have a good time when we do have them! All the best. Viv |
