Should i sell ?

Ok , first of all. I've got a feeling that we're not far from total collapse in the economy. Might be over exaggerating a bit but lets just say i don't think we've seen the worst yet.

My 335D has now covered 37500 miles. It's in for it's second service and all it needs is rear pads and oil. It's econimical , comfty and without doubt it's been the best work vehicle i have ever owned.

The fact that i've had it for over a year says it all really as i normally get bored within 6/9 months and want to change.

Now a chap i deal with through my business has offered my £26000 for my car simply on the basis that i said i might put it up for sale for that amount while having a conversation with him. He wants it asap.

I've recently been tempted to buy a used M3 or something like-but when getting trade bids against used M3's they have been as low as £21000, and that was about 4 weeks ago.

I've got to the point where i feel if i don't take this offer i won't get another chance to sell my car for anywhere near £26000. My feelings are by Christmas the car market will be in turmoil ( if its not already ) and i'll be stuck with her for another year and a half ( which might not be a bad thing).

The only reason i'm thinking of selling is that the offer seems good in today's market and i'm not far from 40000 miles on my car.

What you lot think ?

You don't say how old your car is but that sounds like a good price to me.

Sounds a very good price. Now bailey got a good price for his too. All very confusing.. Autotrader there quite cheap.

If your happy and dont need to sell then i dont see any point. If you do fancy a change then do it now whilst the car is holding some good value.

I agree with Carlos. Sounds a good price tbh from what I've seen recently.

Presumably the alteration in fuel economy running a M3 over so many miles is not a concern then, or would the M3 not be a work vehicle as such?

If you take the attitude that virtually all cars in that 'price sector' are losing x,y,z then go with your heart - wtf?

yeh i think so too, if i saw your car it has quite high miles for me and as u said pads and servicing all adds to the cost, you have 2 options pay for that be done and keep it a year next year it should be booking at 23-25k or sell it like it is, hows tyres that adding more to the cost

I'd bite his arm off with an offer of £26000!

Don't let him go on the web either and check out if he's being sensible, because he must be barking.

Not a reflection on your car, just at the general state of the market at the moment, although in saying that, your mileage is quite high for a June 07, and even more reason to take the money.

Sell high, buy low, M3's are going for silly money at the moment, and I can't see anything changing any time soon.

Agreed - scratch that M3 itch whilst it's relatively cheap to do so.

Sell, sell sell.

I think I'd take the offer even though, to me, £26K is basically twice what I'm asking for my '06 that has less than half as many miles. I do have the albatross of LHD, though. But it is petrol so shouldn't that balance out?

I think a BMW AUC would struggle to achieve £26K in today’s market (taking your mileage into account) As you say scott you normally get bored after about 6 months so time for a change (your kick yourself in a couple of weeks if you don't)

I think it is a fair price mate, don't think it is a really good deal for either party, about spot on for the spec.
It does have everything on it, dab, pana roof, logic 7, nav prof and bluetooth, xenons etc. etc. so it will always sell.

Would you buy an E92 and use that as a daily??

I've just had it serviced with two new front tyres so i'd say £26000 is spot on.

i would sell if you've got itchy feet as 26k is top dollar at the moment.

The question is....Is there another car that fits the bill like the 335dT??

if not then keep it. Or sell it at 26k and buy a lower mileage one off a main dealer for 24k
