Absolutely loving the car and all the OEM bits you've added. Keep the pics coming :-)

Great thread, I wish I could get my hands on a B3 here in the states with the TT N55.

Fantastic write-up and I love what you’ve done to the car! May I ask where you got your side indicators from? Mine are looking tired and can’t seem to find any like the originals, all seem to be tinted

Thanks. The E9x B3 and B3S all used the N54 even when the E9x 335i got the N55.

It wasn't until the F3x Alpina B3 and B3S models came out that Alpina used an N55 with twin turbos again, right through production till the end even when BMW replaced the 335i N55 with the 340i B58.

Ah so only the F series B3 got the N55R20A?

Thanks guys!

Tagging onto to a Dyno day at Surrey Rolling Road i was keen to see how the N54 was performing at approx 80K miles. With its new injectors, spark plugs and a tank full of V power we had a good chance of making good figures. Alpina are usually conservative when it comes to power figures and they state 360 PS and 500 Nm (355 bhp and 369 lbft) as shown in their graph for the car.

Very pleased to see 358 bhp and 370 lbft! AFR were a touch on the rich side so maybe time for some new O2 sensors and a walnut blast.

Better rich than lean!
My v6 vectra B goes down to 11.5AFR on a 4th gear WOT pull. That's on standard management which disregards lamdba data for WOT and fuels open loop.
Throwing HP away and I do intend to get it mapped one day. But for the moment its keeping it safe.

A bit out of the blue but i have sold #185 on.

It has been a fantastic car and will miss it but i am fortunate enough to be in a position to buy a brand new car so have ordered an F82 M4 competition in an individual paint and interior finish.

Jamie the new owner hopefully will show his face and either continue to thread. Seems very keen to continue to look after the car and appreciates it for what it is.

I did consider the BMW performance/E8x 135i brake upgrade and even test fitted my wheels to a customers E82 135i to see if they clear and they do. Only trouble is the discs are actually smaller so in some respects would be a down grade.

I know the the F3x 370mm front brake upgrade is a direct fit and the 345mm rear brakes can be made to fit but i have tried my front wheel on an F30 with the 370mm brakes and the back of my wheel hits the calliper. They may clear with a spacer but didn't have one to hand to try out.
I have the 370 performance fronts and the e9x performance rears, all were direct bolt on and the fronts clear the OEM MV4's front and rear and the 313 fit the rears but the fronts need a 5mm spacer.

I run 313's for sumer and mv4's for the winter.

The pedal feel is good too, but they need to be beld very carefully.
