So if SOP for the E90 335 is Sept, then we are looking at Nov-Dec deliveries? This will suck for Euro deliveries on cars with sports packages/summer tires. Oh well, better that than wait until spring. Maybe a thanksgiving break ED...

2007 E90 sedan ordering begins June 1, 2006, as 2006 E90 orders cease at the end of May 2006. So, if you order on June 1, 2006 for a 2007 E90 why is it that the sedans are still called "325i" and "330i"? And, why has there not been any announcement that 2007 E90's will be 328 and 335 models? This whole E92 speculation has caused a LOT of misinformation to be released out here, and I think this is some of it. You say you've been asked not to say anything, yet there is only 1 more month of being able to order a 2006 E90, and then it becomes orders for 2007. What do your sources say about that? Will there be no E90's available until fall of '06 as '07 models? Also, the E90 has been in production for ONLY 1 year, that's it, one year. And, now your BMWNA sources are saying that's it, only one year of 325 and 330 E90's? They made all that fuss about the new 3.0 magnesium alloy, 3 stage intake, etc... only to use it for 1 year? I just can't believe it. |

That will be an interesting marketing switcheroo. How will they justify that significant an engine change 2 months into the start of the 2007 model year? What a mess. Maybe they will start with the 323/328 lineup in sept. and tell us the 335 is coming, we just have to wait a couple more months to get it. That should work.
Anyone (fleet?) know how much manufacturing facility they have devoted to the N54? What kind of production #s are they planning for? If it is just a small operation, then I can see keeping the N54 limited to the E92. But if they have sufficient capacity, then offering the turbo in other models seems more likely. |

What gives? Demo E92 in June, and no ordered cars until September? Yet, you can keep ordering E46 coupes until the end of May. Again, no sense. At this point BMW won't have my business if this is true. My E46 lease is set to expire May 23. They want me to order a new E90, but with this info why bother? What model would I be ordering? And, when will I get it? Too much BS is what I say. |

That does seem a bit odd to have a 3 month lag where no coupes, E46 or E90, are available. But we are going to have to do without a M3 for a while too.
My guess is that your dealer will be happy to work out a deal (extend lease) where you keep your current E46 until you get delivery of the E92. Look at the alternatives; the E92 is worth the wait! |

If you had a good dealer who was working on your lease end with you he would have told you about all this and E90 335 stuff because BWM does want to keep you...my dealer did. The year stuff is screwy...I will poke around it and let you know... |

The 328 will still have the 'old' N52 engine. And then everything moves to the N51 & N53 DI as soon as the low sulfur fuel is available. I would guess a move to 325 N51/330 N53/335 N54 in spring 2007.

The BMW sales people I spoke with said I could order a 2006 E90 now and get it 6-8 weeks, or I could order a 2007 E90 in June for July (earliest delivery). If I go with the 2007 they will work with me and BMW to extend my current lease till my new car comes. They have also told me that the new coupes will be coming this fall. So, they have the E92 info, but it's your E90 info that doens't jibe with what the dealers have. Also, again, there is too much E92 info. being combined with the E90 info that causes confusion. I have no intention of getting a coupe. Thus, I'm trying to follow the E90 sedan info but it seems to get more and more convuluted daily. |
