Do you get the ultimate package with the add on "waxes"?

or just the base soap and rinse? Here in Canada, I try to get undercarriage too in winter.

I usually get the top level wash (which is called the "luxury" wash at Esso). I've tried the other levels, but find they don't get the car as clean as the top level washes, especially in the winter months.

Somewhere in the middle. I like the undercarriage, that's the only thing I'm willing to pay extra for in the winter (which is the only time I use touchless washes anyway).

+1. I hate using them, but it is necessary to get all that salt off the car when it is still too cold to wash it in my driveway.

With my older car I always get the "best/expensive" ones but now with my new car. I dd it twice once in Germany and when I go it back here in Canada.

But that was it, last week my car was washed at home and detailed.

I was talking to someone that knows a lot about paint and stuff like that then we were talking about maintaining the car and he suggested not to get the "best" one since it putting some coatings that you dont really need/want on your car. Such as wax, they go allover the car windshield, tires, etc... So it got me thinking, not sure if he was right but it was really an interesting point.

Usually the basic ones are good enough for most ppl but for some of us enthusiasts its always better to DIY but we don't always have time or too lazy. I would prolly go to the car wash and then finish it up at home just to "loosen" the dirt.

As what others say the under wash is very useful, esp for winter.

There is not really need to detail the car during winter, so most likely I will be using the the car wash often, just to get rid of some of the salt, may not remove all.

BUt I guess I was reffering to the winter, when I have to get touchless...it gets cold!


So I guess there is no harm with those added waxes in the touchless wash?

I never bother with their waxes or "protections" since I handle all that myself. If you are looking for easy, go for a spray-on-wipe-off wax you can apply in the garage after going through the touchless in winter.

I haven't used it personally, but the guys at DetailedImage have mentioned Optimum Car Wax for this purpose.

The thing is that wax is supposed to "seal" the thing is that car washes never clean the car fully, there will also be dirt left and the problem I think is that you are putting wax on a dirty car. I have tried going 2 times to a touchless car wash and still didn't really clean the car properly. I guess it also depends on how dirty the car is/
