As for Movado's, they are even more boring looking and the movements suck but I assume you knew that. If it were me, I'd go for a Sinn 756, Ball Hydrocarbon, Just about any Panerai, Zenith Rainbow, Seiko Marine Master spring drive (sawtooth), Omega SeaMaster Olympic edition, Hamilton Khaki GMT..I could go on and on..some of these are more expensive than the Tag he posted but IMO well worth the upgrade. |

honestly, i think for watches, you should get one you can afford easily. not something you have to count pennies for. since nowadays theyre mostly a statsu symbol, if you have money to burn then you get a rolex or something, but to get them being used and bargaining and stuff, its kinda contradictory i feel.

I personally have an Omega Seamaster Chronometer Automatic that was given to me as a college graduation/acceptance to pharmacy school present.
It looks quite nice, and I can wear it with just about anything. However, about a year ago, it quit working. I sent it in for service, and Omega had it for 3 months before I got it back. Their service center isn't exactly the friendliest either. For my next watch, I'm definately going the Rolex Seamaster or Daytona route. -Adam |

i think the price range u were originally going for (500-1k) is good. but some of these suggested watches get into 5 digits...

I just bought an Omega from a watch store. It was tough deciding between Tag and Omega as the price difference for similar watches was $1000+. I ended up getting Omega Seamaster 2503.50. Omega just looks and feels better than Tag IMHO. By the way I was surpised to find out that the watch stores negotiate the price and even take off the tax if you ship it to a state where they do not operate.

I don't think anyone has suggested Hamilton. Long history. Now swiss made. Automatic. 100m water resistant.
I really like the khaki x-wind with black face and brown leather band. Sporty, but classy. Big watch too. Buy what you like and can afford.

I was looking at this watch before buying my Omega Seamaster 2503.50. I didn't like the bracelet on Tag. Omega felt more solid and looked nicer. Having said that, I think these look nice too. If you know someone with connections at Macy's you can get "friends and family deal" that's ending today. with that promotion, you can get this Tag for $1250 including tax.

make sure to take that one off when working on stuff and shit i broke my Carrrera Chrono 3 times when i had it... once was bezel side cracked when working on a server rack i was installing a new ups. the 2nd time was the start/stop button broke off from a clothing snag, 3 it just quit winding and keeping time one day. Im not really that hard on watches i dont think. But ya that one did not like me...
