New 230 Rim

Ever since i bought my ride the tires are a royal pita as far as them holding air. 19 inch 230 wheels. The rims have been resurfaced several times. The front left now goes down in but a few days. I found a replacement at The Rim Shop.

Has anybody bought from them? If so, are you happy with the rims? The one I bought is suppossed to be a direct replacement. I am hoping the weighting and feel is the same. If it goes right Ill go ahead and get the other three when the wider rear wheels are available.

I'm going to guess you have a small hairline crack in your rim, the 230's are known for this. Pull the rim and check the back.

Hi Volasko. I had Discount Tire mark the place where the leak was before swapping the rims. Not a cracked rim, but something stupid. There was a bar code sticker right on the bead spot where the leak was. Apparently this sticker is used for inventory. What a moronic place to put it. The sticker was taken off, the wheel replaced, and it is holding up fine. Two things from this: the stickers should be taken off prior to installing the tires. And secondly, the kid that told me the original rim was bad did not investigate deep enough. It needlessly cost me 230 dollars.

You didn't have them break it down first before buying a replacement? If so, I would use it as a spare or sell it.

Yes, I had them check it out. All I could go by was what they told me the first time. When the new rim was about to be installed I insisted that I be there. 230 some odd dollars too late.
