What's the purpose of the spacer beside rubbing issue and why would they run if it's a OEM wheel setup?

Is the rear flush with the 20? I have an e92 with 189s and 255/35 rear 225/40 front stock sport suspension and want to try fitting as flush as possible.

What about the front? Front spacer size?

Hope he hasn't traded in his car since it's been 6.5 years since he posted.

I have 15mm in front and 20mm in rear. It's pretty flush, but I'm on stock suspension and it rubs in back on big dips.
