Bit of a stab in the dark here.
I have just fitted the basic Hifi amp that only amps the subs to my car (E61) the donor car also an E61 listed s676A on the vin check website so I tried to code $676 to the VO and code the CIC
Trouble is I now have an amp showing on the MOST loop that doesn't exist and have no idea why with $676

Wondering if anyone can help?

the CIC trace file is set to hifi like it should be and not top hifi

677 and 688 is the top Hi Fi amp and as far as I know
the only ones that are on the Most Loop for the e90
in the time period of 2006 to 2012.
You didn't specify the above instead of 676 did you .
Also what generation car are we talking about .
F series and beyond are unknown to me.
The only change in the F series known is and additional
channel on the center dash for the 676 option.

option 676 hi fi no most bus(for the amp that is other stuff most likely)
option 677 and 688 top hi fi most bus amp.

I've figured it out, the E6x's that came with CIC and HiFi do have a most enabled amp and the amp powers all the speakers.

I should have done a bit more homework before buying it.

So did you program the wrong option or did you get a Head Unit
that was already programmed to 677 or 688?
I am pretty sure you could get them either way .
The stock no pay for it option for most years in the US is Hi Fi for
the e9x except 2010 to 2011.5 when we got the no amp base
system which I understand is quite common for the Rest of the World.

I coded the right option but on CIC it needs a MOST enabled amp unlike CCC that doesn't.

As far as I know this is not the case if you have a Hi Fi amp
its a simple analog amp there is not even a port on it
for fiberoptics. I have changed my Hi Fi amp out for
a aftermarket amp. Either cic or ccc can be coded for either amp.
Most is needed for bluetooth , Sos and Sat modules or DAB in europe.

In the case is the E6x series when they hit late 2008 and the CIC became available the amp changed part numbers as can be seen on realoem https://www.realoem.com/bmw/en/showp...diagId=65_1431 when you search for CIC as an option. You will see the new option has 2 plugs for it and one of those is the optical link, WDS also confirms it runs all the speakers.

I assume due to those being so late in production and most of us 5 series owners who are active on help groups still have CCC that this is hardly known about.

I consider myself very clued up on the 5 series and fix them for a living but had no idea until I dug deeper after coding the option to my factory fit CIC and finding the car looking for an amp on the MOST link.

I know in Europe they get another level Nav/idrive
than we get here. Business I believe is what they call it.
And have seen some people report on cars from there
without a most bus at all.
. But this is and e9x board also .
I have seen plenty of people try to code to 676 either from
the base system or to convert the output of the head unit
to analog to run aftermarket amps with top hi fi never heard of this
before. Does it still make a sound?
I can say I have never seen anybody talk about a Hi Fi
amp here for an e90 that has anything but analog connections.
the following links are considered the bible on the e9x stereo in the US.
And I think it carry's over to most other BMW stereo's
Hi Fi analog 6 channel amp 10 speakers up until 2010
Top Hi Fi amp fiberoptic input 13 speakers before 2010 11 after
In 2010 tweeters deleted from rear.
The black hi fi amp changed to a silver one sometime in 2010 but
I don't see anybody reporting it has and most bus function at all.
At least here on the e9x forum.

It was news to me until I checked the correct part number, not sure if it still takes thea speaker out but either way it has a most link.
