I saw someone who did the M3 CSL roof to a an E46 M3. The steel roof panel isn't actually that heavy because its so thin, don't save too much but its all the top of the car. Doubt you would notice a difference, just the bling factor mainly.
There have been a few guys in the US who have performed this mod, AFAIK they've installed an aftermarket roof panel. These cars were also track cars and they did state the weight losses but for the $ it would be difficult to justify in terms of improved performance and steering response but alas it is a work of art those cf roofs

Just looking at the roof on ebay, they haven't touched the CF roof panel at all, just cut the steel pillars. Would be a massive job removing the CF panel from the steel bodywork, the epoxy is super strong stuff!

This would be a massive job, just taking the interior trim out takes hours

E9X M3 DCT Cluster (USA)

Buy it now is just over $500 aus delivered as well as make an offer. MPH on outside and KM in the inside. Maybe best to check with VTL if digital speedo can be coded to KM and if suitable for Aus retrofit before pulling trigger.

E-Bay link

I paid $750 for my cluster by memory, as they were something crazy like $1800 new...

$400 plus $150 or so for the VTL treatment is totally worth it

Anyone interested in some M3 e92/93 folding mirrors?

I made offers on two and have counter offer back at AU $1,081.82
down from AU $1,475.21

Just sent a message to the ebay seller asking for both sets for $1100GBP (From the UK)

My plan is to have them resprayed in gloss black and then have the cover wrapped in CF and clear coated by a local company.

The source the folding mirror door insert and do the retrofit.

Yes but I got a message back saying one set had been sold. Also said they should get a few more in the coming weeks.
