fuel is not just fuel

hey guys
this question has probably been asked before

so recently i've been going to my local caltex woolworths because its a bit cheaper than the BPs and Shells

i used to go 7/11 which is mobil but i've moved homes and its not near me anymore

now with my butt dyno, i feel my car with caltex pulls a lot less than with 7/11 fuel

i've talked to some tuners before and they said BP is the best and to avoid caltex?
not sure how much bs theyre spewing or if it is actually true

i know fuel all come from the main two suppliers but i suspect the additives they put in really affects the car's performance?

anyways i just want to hear your opinions and suggestions

I tried shell extra diesel and bp ultimate. DPF came on once with shell extra diesel but never for BP ultimate. Have been on BP ultimate ever since. Think BP has a consistent quality that's all

Shell 98 > Mobil 98 > BP 98
BP 98 ruined my injectors many years ago so I only visit shell and Mobil for 98. I went to the point of getting comparisons from each brand and tested each for additives. BP looked worst.

Look at your logs on each fuel.

Before using e85 I had best results of limited timing corrections on bp ultimate. This was testing united 98, caltex 98 and bp ultimate.

It really depends on who u ask.
Yes they all have their different additives in it but there shouldn't be much discrepancy between the three.

I know a lot of the ///M guys only using BP ultimate and will not steer away from it.
Others will say Caltex vortex 98 sometimes gives a knocking effect.
I have pretty much used only Shell 98 because I'm a cheap prick coz I shop at Coles every week for my grocery and get the coles discount voucher and save 4c per litre so for every tank I fill up I save approx $2 which is approx $100 per year I save!

I used to swear by BP, now I swear by Shell. Its good to buy different fuel from different locations once a month they say. So thats what I do now. Possibly the BP is still good but I was always buying from the same station so maybe thats where I went wrong..
