Will they write this off?
Hey guys was hit in the intersection by a car running a red. I was wondering if you think the ins company will write this off or repair it? I really hope they write it off I don't want to drive a car after the suspension has been damaged.
It's a 2006 330i with 137000kms or 85000miles. Front wheels caved in and a bit of damage in back. The engine was leaking fluid and was ticking like crazy Thanks for looking |

Boo
Thanks for comments guys im thinking they wont either but really dont want it after. I feel like it will never ride the same after such a hard hit to the suspension Would it possible to bring the car back to 100% driving wise where i wont even know it has been hit? looks like they may repair it, maybe mention the engine leaking if the block is cracked im sure it would be a right off, however the rad may be cracked or just brake fluid line? good luck

My car actually just got totaled and allowed me to upgrade (hopefully to my first bmw) but insurance wise if it costs more then 70% of what the car costs then they consider it totaled.

be sure to let the ins company know you want only genuine BMW parts and want the repair work done only by a BMW service center. That will likely make it so expensive that they total it (if they agree)...otherwise...the repair may come out better than it was before. I would only be concerned if there were frame damage in which case for sure they will total it. Only other thing to consider is that if there is frame damage or if the air bags deployed, that will be reported and show up on a car fax report which may seriously reduce the resale value.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

if the frame is bent yes, it would be a total loss.. The front subframe could be damaged as well as the passenger side frame. + labor to straighten things out. the strut tower could be bent aswell...
So subframe, Frame rail. Control arms wheel tire shock spring straighting indirect damagce ECT +labor.. Maybe lol |

As long as the repair work costs more than I think 50% of the book value you should be set. That being said, between frame, engine, suspension, bodywork, paint, and a rental for that whole time......you may get the result you want.
