I just got back from beating on the car in a most unhealthy way. All connections seem to be good. Don't have inpa or any software to reset adaptations yet.
Definitely an improvement. However there are times where a downshift to third and 3000 rpm leaves it flat on its face...takes a second for the power to come in as the revs build. Is this just landing in the disa dip and climbing back out?

It's quicker....

hopefully that will go away whenever you reset adaptions.

how much quicker do you think it got? is it worth 650?

Well that's just the tune. I also had a 3 stage IM installed.

Modding stock car is never really worth it. There's always a trade-off. And this is instance horse power per dollar, NO.

Keep in mind I may not be able to fully enjoy it:
Rough roads and traffic in NYC. I'm moving in October to a quieter more open place, and may get to enjoy the car more.

It's been woken up, for sure, but it's not the extreme kick in the pants people say it is.

We're it a $300 tune, I think it would be more reasonable, but he tuner can only do with what he's given, and the N52 I almost maxed out as it is.

i used to live in nyc. there are plenty off places to open her up, van wyck, belt, clear view but its been awhile probably bumper to bumper traffic on those highways now lol

but yes i agree if the tune was about 300-400 i would of purchase already. but 650 is a bit to much for a flash tune.

I did some mods to my car too, i also have a 3im, If it transformed the car to a 13 sec or recorded a reasonable trapspeed in conjunction with dyno #s, then yes probably worth the price. but that tune probably shaves off .2.3 tenths off the 1/4 mile, still remain a 14 sec car IMO not worth it for 650.

alot of people here are against nitrous. Ive used nitrous before i blew up alot of engines learning how to use it, but once you learn how to use it for $350 wet kit you can vary hp from 50-150. best bang for the buck. And most of all it will be reliable as anything else you can buy. but not for the novice.

It DOES make it more lively, and rev matching is a smidge quicker and easier, I have to admit.

I don't know how much more clear I could have been when I said "I'm glad I did this."

It is well worth the money.

Hmmm... Phyrexia is in town now. Perhaps we need a race to find out how much of a difference the tune really makes. We have very similar mods but your car should be a good bit quicker due to the N52's higher compression and BPC tune, not to mention the PI. Would be interesting to say the least...

hahaha, ah.. gettin' old.

The other day, America Ninja Warrior happened to be on and I caught a few minutes of it. Let's just say it was depressing to see all of these guys that are ripped as hell weighing in in the 140's/150's. LOL at least I have some height on me, which makes a big difference I suppose... but this old man gut is definitely getting out of control

Honestly, we're probably closer in weight than you might think! I'll use my girl as a ballast. She can film.

Found my problem. Turns out the DISAs are NOT connected!
No wonder I didn't feel much. The Shop missed it.
Long one and short one: which goes where now?

I think the short one can only go so far, so try that on the smaller DISA?

Yes, it becomes self-explanatory once you take a look. Short cable goes to the outer valve long cable goes to the inner valve, it's the only way they will work.

Thanks guys, won't have a chance to drive the car until Saturday, and will report back on how t feels.

I don't blame you! Unfortunately, I park on the street in Brooklyn, have no other car, and a wife and child that rely on me not messing anything up!
We're moving out of NYC, will have more space, and another car at some point, so tinkering will be more sensical...

This is just off the tip-top of my head but I'm thinking you'll have another 15 WTQ or so in some RPM 'areas'.

Long one goes to the small DISA and the short one goes to the big DISA.

The most noticeable difference should be the increase in mid-range power.

Actually, it's probably going to be the low end power - and now that the resonance valves are operational - high end power. The 3 stage actually doesn't make a huge amount of mid range power compared to the single stage.
