Sorry, not to pick on you but this is the same tired argument I hear from underbaseball educated sox fans regularly. One season years ago should not give you hope. One season has no effect on the other. Even if it did, any momementum gained if it were to carry over, which it does not, is long gone. What should give you hope is the fact that on paper the team is very good and that coupled with Kenny's go for broke approach is worth creating hope. By continually leaning on 2005 promotes satisfaction rather than hope. By appearing satisfied, sox fans show how weak minded they are. They should instead be extremely dissatisfied by only 1 ring and only 1 other playoff appearance under Kenny.

Further, why is it necessary to hate the cubs? I never hated the Sox. They don't play each other but six meaningless games in the stupid overplayed interleague system. They don't play in the same league much less division. Only meaningful games would be in October and the chances of that happening are remote at best.

Therefore your hate can only stem from jealousy or your own insecurities. I know, jealous of what? I don't know you tell me. If your Sox love and your Sox were truly all that, then the Cubs would really be but a spec on your ass and not worth the hate. Direct your hate at the Twins, Tigers, Indians, Royals, Yankees....all more appropriate.

Hate Cub fans...sure there is a fair share of idiot cub fans too. But in my experience with both sides, Sox fans are generally self-righteous but no more baseball astute.

Well, yes, how could it not from where it was. However, even you sold tomorrow on gld you'd be up $50/share from when I first said to buy on this forum. But selling now is advised if not already done.

No pissing contest needed here Al. I'm just being an ignorant asshole. I hate as hate was given to me in from '81-04 for being "different" and a fan of the southside. Not everything here pertains to how you see it and your higher education of baseball knowledge need not apply here. I'm just plain old being a prick and giving back some of my 23 years worth of North side dirty looks.

OK, see the difference here is that most sox fans cannot admit that their hate is based in some illogical issue within themselves.

For the record those looks that made you feel as such were equally wrong and on behalf of the Cub Nation I apologize to you. The realm of the baseball fan is dwindling quickly and we should embrace our brethren (input ghey joke here) and engage them in meaningful debate and discussion.
