PPK should be "good enough" for your needs and help a lot with heat.

Only the version 2 "full PPK" improves the cooling. It's a must-have if you're going to track the car at all. Bigger/better oil cooler helps too but that's not an OEM part.

AFAIK with a stock tune, the only thing you'll get from an exhaust is sound. The DME will dial down to keep boost at the same level. Software is everything on the N54. How do you think BMW can get +20 HP with no supporting mods?
