Misfire/Hesitation Issue
Hello! I am having some issues with my 2007 335i. I have searched every thread I can find about misfire/hesitation issues.
Background: It is a 2007 335i with manual transmission with 120,000 miles. It has the sport package so it does have the oil cooler. It has had a Dinan stage 2 tune since around 54,000 miles. Issue: I noticed a hesitation at full throttle between 3,000-5,000 rpms. I also noticed a rough idle on startup occasionally. Repairs so far: I replaced all six spark plugs, all six coil packs, & all six fuel injectors (index 12). The air filter has been replaced within the last 6 months as well. I noticed the rough idle has gotten better if not completely gone. The hesitation at full throttle between 3,000-5,000 rpms is still present. Oddly enough as the car warms up, the hesitation is worse/more noticeable. I'm at a loss as what to do next. The dealer as well as an Indy shop have said the car doesn't show any codes but after driving the car, they feel the issue as well. Thank you for any help in advance! |

If it changes with warmth, my main question would be to see if the AFR's are changing via logging/ diagnostics tools. Could be your O2 sensors, pre cats, whcih are how the engine figures out how to run. Mine was giving me massive idlinga nd stmbling issues before is threw any codes.

Gradual failure typically. Without logs we can't determine if it's pulling timing, not hitting boost target, or not getting fuel (could be either lpfp or hpfp). Spark, air, fuel. I hope you didn't pay them for diagnostics and not get a diagnosis.

My o2 sensor was causing this issue, without throwing any code. It eventually did throw a code, but it was failing/ missing for months before it actually triggered the code.
