no. warranty on hpfp is good for 10 year 120k miles. i know so because i don't have warranty and master tech at the dealer told me i don't have to worry about hpfp because they will stand behind even after 50k so it got me wonder why he did it himself...

On Original HPFP 30k miles, but today just had a 5 sec crank, and rpms jumping between 600 - 2000... Guess Mine is on it's way out. Removed my tune a week ago, removed my DCI today... Guess I'm have to record the next few startups and take it to the dealership..

good luck ...
hope your next ride is more to your likin' ....
but let's suppose your next car is a pile also, what next? Im not sayin youre wrong (cuz youre not), but thats what warranties are all about.. not the vaporous coverage that came with cars in the 60's and 70's - the car makers are aware that these thing do break --- but in current age we think price equates to absence of breakdowns and not making light of any past scenarios, but just think about it, the U.S. space program launches multi-billion dollar vehicles into space, and things break (or fall off) all the time. it comes with the territory, i imagine. i wonder if the guys on the Ferrari forum complain about their 1st tune up, and how much it cost? or sitting and waiting for months for parts to arrive. or their apparent lack of warranty coverage on certain parts... apples and oranges comparison, but what if ? Ive been through domestic and foreign car lines and all (except for the wifes Honda) have proved to be nightmares - from engine electronics to failed (destroyed) transmissions. but like someone said, i think its a "hit or miss" deal with any car maker.

Recommend OP go through the warranty buyback process next time. Read the manual, bring the car to the dealer and put the keys on the GM's desk and tell them to take the POS back from you.

An upper pulley, mild tune, and off-road mid pipe will put you in the 11s and trapping in the 120s. And the sky's the limit. Don't ask me how I know.

It's kind of a long story. Gist is that the car broke, I was pissed and tired of it breaking down whenever I went on a trip. I inquired about trading it in on a very, very clean low mileage Z06 on their lot as soon as I brought the car in. They didn't get right as far as price. Kept calling me over the next week and discussing price. Service called me on a thurs and said car wasn't fixed, no warranty, 2k bill, etc. I called sales immediately and said I'd take the latest numbers we discussed which were already pretty good and had me really considering the car. They appraised it when it first came in at the beginning of the week and didn't bother going back to service again. I showed up with the title and it was a done deal in an hour. Took the car home after they owned it, demodded it in 3 hours, brought it back and took my new Z home. Their problem then.

BMW does indeed built POS cars sometimes or just some components. 318ti comes to mind with pre-mature engine failure common problem. In case you have not heard about it, BMW been sued by the GM dissolution corp? Apparently they signed a deal to 200,000 units of GM 6sp Auto trannys a year but they (BMW) kept demanding more and more quality improvements from GM and ultimately wound up buying 150,000 units a year. I know full well what a POS those trannys were. I suffered 2 failures on my E46 330ci and ultimately ditched it because of tranny issues. Anyway bought the E92 and it was a POS for the first 14k miles. Knock on wood its been flawless since BMW did some serious work on it. Hope it stays that way. It sure is no Toyota (I know I know what y'all thinking, but trust me I have always had one in the garage and wish BMW was half the car Toyota is. Atleast in some respects).

I definitely don't blame you for venting or being pissed. I know I would be too. GL on your search for a replacement car. It's really too bad, b/c the e92 335 is a fanatastic car WHEN it's not throwing all these codes.

I agree when the car is running properly it is awesome to drive. There will even be a part of me that will miss it once its gone. But now its becoming a safety issue when my car shuts off on me while i am driving it. My 3 year old is occasionally in my car and things like this are not acceptable.

Hit 26K last week... Im on the 3rd HPFP (every10k) Low-pressure sensor last week. Limp mode again over the weekend, jumpy idle cold start.
My post: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361235 I LOVE the car- don't know about these issues coming up. Need it to be reliable even thought the SA does provide equivelent vehicles almost everytime.
