Bmw 2018 Premium Map Australia/new Zealand

This company has gone out of business but the link is still alive so far so you can download the 2018 CIC Premium map before it disappears.
A box will come up but press download anyway.

So after downloading, im guessing you transfer the 3GB .rar file to a usb and follow the instructions?

Yes you do format the USB to fat32 and follow the instructions and install USB into glove box slot and go from there.

Nice, I've been looking for this for a while now.

I've got an ICOM cable which makes code generation easy but for most people it might be a bit tricky getting the 1B file out of the CIC unit to generate the code.

Code:
<SgbmId id="NAVD_000004D6_255_002_159" SWID_FscShort="0030002E" name="Road Map Australia/New Zealand PREMIUM 2018 supplier="TAS" sop="01.09.2017" version="10_09" MapOrderNumberBMW="" MapOrderNumberMINI="" MapOrderNumberRR="" successorMapOrderNumberBMW="" successorMapOrderNumberMINI="" successorMapOrderNumberRR="">
         <EcuVariant CompatibilityIdentifier="HU_CIC-HB" Format="CIC" />
         <SwUpdate SwUpdateEntry="No"/>
</SgbmId>
For anyone who generates their FSC code, the identifier is 0030002E, for 2017 this was 0030002A so it doesn't just increment by 1 every year. Just paste that xml text into your lookup.xml and you can generate a new code

You can definitely get the 1b file from CIC to generate FSC with just a standard OBD2 to ENET like you use to flash/code read for F series cars (wont work with the USB version unless you can link the USB port to an IP address).

It is a bit involved with using ftp via the cable on an Ethernet port and logging into the CIC to access the files. Definitely possible. For anyone looking to do it this way google "generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTControlle r" <- this is the file you need to download from the CIC HDD to then convert into a 1b file via hex editor. You can then generate FSC codes with the 1b file.

Ty for the link!

PS- Vince that lookup xml code is missing a " after the Road Map Australia/New Zealand PREMIUM 2018. It will throw an error, just add the " to the end to fix it.

Cheers though! Saved me looking it up in the hex.

Yeah few options I know of:

$20 ENET cable from ebay - Only works if your car came with CIC and you have the OBD port wired for ethernet. Need to FTP into the unit

$300 ICOM cable - Easiest way to read but expensive. Press a button and the 1B file is in your hands

USB->ethernet converter (only certain chipset will work with the old QNX operating system) - Need to FTP into the unit

Sorry, thanks Superdaws fixed in here:

Isn't it easier to use the USB CIC extractor?
No need for ENET, ICOM or hex editor.

For E series cars to generate FSC code for the map you just need Inpa cable and download the early DR.GINI 4-14 Software if you want to get 1B file and DR.GINI will do the rest you just need a late lookup file.
If you have the 1B file you just the FSC generator which is readably available on the net.

I can put DR.GINI 4-14 on one drive later to share.
Have not done that before.

Yep newer method which wasn't available when I extracted mine. Probably easier yes, but I don't know about this method. Just posted what I knew, but prob better suggestion yes.

Cars that had CIC from factory should have the OBD Ethernet connection. Good point Vince!

Thank you again though chappy for the link!

Just want to pop by and say a big THANK YOU.

My last installed map update was 2012- when I bought the car last year, the previous owner wasn't the type to do updates etc.

Such a big difference in map content.

Hello!

I have d/l post 1 maps and have the 1b file that i generated but there is no 2018 Australia MAP Premium to select in that generator in post 13 to generate a fsc code - i have tried the 2-3 map listings 2017 2018 and 2018-1 live to no avail

can anybody generate a fsc code for me for the map version in post 1 with my provided 1B file?

Cheers,

Matt
