Turn signals would not cancel
Hello everyone,
I have been living with turn signals that would not cancel themselves for some time now. It stopped working around the time I shorted my ratchet on the positive jump start terminal in the engine bay. Well my FRM finally failed a week ago, and luckily was still under the 15 year extended warranty. After BMW replaced it and coded it to my vehicle, the turn signals work again! |

It might be as simple as a re-calibration of the clockspring / slip ring.
If you have a coding tool like Protool by BimmerGeeks, it would take you a minute to do. Make sure your car/steering wheel is straight and perform the procedure. I had to do that when I did the retrofit for heated steering wheel and had to get a new clockspring. |

Do you mean the one that asks you to turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then to the right? I had done that one, but it didn't fix it in my case. I even checked that the steering angle position didn't have any jumps while turning with ISTA. > I had to do that when I did the retrofit for heated steering wheel and had to get a new clockspring. That is a good point though, if someone else had that same problem. |
