Turn signals would not cancel

Hello everyone,

I have been living with turn signals that would not cancel themselves for some time now. It stopped working around the time I shorted my ratchet on the positive jump start terminal in the engine bay. Well my FRM finally failed a week ago, and luckily was still under the 15 year extended warranty. After BMW replaced it and coded it to my vehicle, the turn signals work again!

It might be as simple as a re-calibration of the clockspring / slip ring.
If you have a coding tool like Protool by BimmerGeeks, it would take you a minute to do.

Make sure your car/steering wheel is straight and perform the procedure. I had to do that when I did the retrofit for heated steering wheel and had to get a new clockspring.

Do you mean the one that asks you to turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then to the right? I had done that one, but it didn't fix it in my case. I even checked that the steering angle position didn't have any jumps while turning with ISTA.

That is a good point though, if someone else had that same problem.
