  • Low parasitic draw: No always-on LEDs; minimal draw when idle. <10 milliamps at idle.
  • Built for automotive heat/UV: ASA-CF polymer with OEM-like texture (heat/UV resistant, color-stable).
  • Plug-and-play install: Includes pre-attached harness + T20 Torx key. Typical first-time install ~60 minutes.
  • Designed/manufactured/assembled in Idaho: hand-assembled with global components in the USA.

FAQ
  • Will it charge through a thick case / MagSafe ring?
Yes. The triple-coil layout is more forgiving on alignment through thicker cases. (Metal plates directly under the phone can reduce performance.)
  • Will it drain my battery?
No. There are no always-on LEDs and the system draws minimal power when idle. <10 milliamps at idle.
  • Does the amber light still work?
Yes—OEM amber illumination is retained. If your car didn’t have an illuminated tray, you can add the LED kit.
  • Overheating?
Only in extreme cabin temps. The system has over-temp protection and the coil layout charges efficiently with less wasted heat.
  • How does it hook up to the vehicle wiring?
Genuine 3M wire taps that connect into the wiring for the front 12v port or the 12v port under the armrest. These wire-taps have been tested on OEM-BMW wiring and it does NOT damage the base-conductors.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Install notes
  • Install is plug-and-play with included harness and T20 Torx key.
  • First-time install is typically ~60 minutes.
  • I include a PDF install guide with photos/steps.

This looks great! I have a few questions:

1) You said power draw is minimal at idle--does this mean it's always hot even key off?
2) The overheating thing. I never would've never thought to ask about overheating until I saw that. What does overheating protection mean? Does it turn off/stop charging if it's too hot?
3) My car has the ash tray, not the oddments tray. What does this mean for the amber light in my case?

Good questions.

1) You said power draw is minimal at idle--does this mean it's always hot even key off?
  • For the USB-units there is no power draw at idle. For the wireless charger there is a blip of 5-10 milliamps every second, and then off for a second. Basically the same power draw you would get from a blinking security LED. As a general rule of thumb a total parasitic draw under 50 milliamps is acceptable. If the car is going into storage, put in on a Battey tender. If it's being driven semi-regularly it's fine.

2) The overheating thing. I never would've never thought to ask about overheating until I saw that. What does overheating protection mean? Does it turn off/stop charging if it's too hot?
  • Just like your phone can overheat and shutoff, the charger can overheat and shutoff. Yes it will throttle and limit the charging until it's cool enough to start charging again.

3) My car has the ash tray, not the oddments tray. What does this mean for the amber light in my case?
  • The ashtray (smoker's package option) already has the amber LED, so you don't need to purchase the additional amber LED kit I sell. The install guide I have covers installs for people who make the oddments tray and people who have to ashtray. You can find it here Install Guide (PDF). Special note, if you have the smoker's package you can just wire-tap the front cig-port 12v wires instead of wiring to the center console port wires.

I have one of these (wireless only with suede bottom) in my e92 and along with the mr12volt MMI, it makes my 18 year old car feel like a brand new car. Love being able to throw the phone in without even looking. Charges fast and even when using wireless android auto, it gives a net positive charge while some other ones can barely keep up or even drain the battery. Installation was quick and easy - I tapped into my cigarette lighter 12v since I had the smoker's package. Took about 10 minutes total. My Samsung Z flip 5 charges well in its case while the phone is closed

Thanks for the shoutout! Glad you're still enjoying it. Yeah, if you have the smoker's package tapping into that line is way easier than digging into the center console lines. Old plastic trim likes to break, especially in the winter :/
