Bricked CCC unit / MULF?

Hi All,

I bought my first BMW about two months ago, absolutely love it! Been reading and learning a lot, still got a long way to go. Excited to be a part of this community!

On the test drive and the drive back home a couple days later, the CCC unit was working. Before I drove it home, I was messing about with the iDrive so I connected my phone via Bluetooth and removed the previous owner’s etc

The bluetooth thing might just be a coincidence but I parked the car and went out of town for a few days. Next time I turn the ignition on, the CCC unit started rebooting or getting stuck on the BMW logo - common problem as I’ve found on the forums. Removed the CD/DVD that was in it, tried the button-hold reset, disconnected the battery for 30+ mins… nothing worked. A bit frustrated because can’t listen to music and the parking sensors aren’t working

Before I try and get the unit out and send for repair, shall I try to bypass the bluetooth module with a loop to see if it’s the culprit? I don’t know how exactly I’d be doing that either tbh, couldn’t find any guides online

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Before you do anything on these always check you have a good battery and alternator with Voltmeter.

If the battery gets low the electronics don't like it and will give you lot of
false phantom problems.

There is and idrive sub forum here also .

If the idrive only boots to the logo , I would think it's the idrive .
Please see Idrive sub forum assuming you have a good battery .

Put a full charge on the battery before you do anything (full slow charge)

Also get some diagnostics and learn to use them before you need to use them .
BMW Standard Tools and Ista D with a K/D can cable and PC laptop recommended.
See coding subforum for downloads .
Ista D is like a shop manual with guided trouble shooting.
