335i Limp Mode after high RPM

Needing some serious advice, tried a lot. Bought my 335i 2010 N55 in July, was running stock power but had all stage 2 kit ready to go. Changed shocks control arms etc (irrelevant) also changed the fuel rail pressure sensor about a month ago as the car would go in limp after taking it passed 4/5k revs. Getting a 2BE9 code but again, I doubt the HPFP would die in less than a year. Drove it after I changed the sensor and it drove like new, but then it would die again a few days later, back to square one. Then recently had a service, oil change, new plugs etc. Drove perfect again after the plugs were done, and it’s back to dying again. It was dying when it was running rich with stock power, now it’s mapped to stage 2+ and it’s still dying. On 96k miles 2010. Mechanics said both pumps are fine and that was only put in last year (OE HPFP). Any idea on what else could be the issue? Any advice would be hugely appreciated .

Thanks

Step 1, grab a log of a pull where the car dies, and upload it to datazap.me website. Then make it public, and post the link here so we can tell if you have a failing pump.

Where did you source the new fuel pressure sensor from?

The previous owner had it installed last year. Mechanic said that both pumps are fine but yes 2BE9 code is popping up once it goes into limp.

Here’s the codes from the MHD

The ignition coil in cylinder one is fine, that’s now sorted. The car isn’t affected by the coil at all, doesn’t jitter or struggle cranking/starting. Car starts and drives fine on low RPM (below 3.5k revs) I can do short fast pulls up the 3.5k revs and she still drives fine, just anything after 4/5k will go into limp.

We really need to see a log (similar to this below, this one is with JB4, but do the same with MHD)

For instance, you can see on that log below that the pressure from the high pressure fuel pump stays pretty constant at around 12 (1800psi) for the entire duration of the pull. The low pressure fuel pump also stays constant, around a value of 7 (70psi) for the duration of the pull.

If the high pressure fuel pump drops below 700psi (i think), then it will throw a code. Your fuel pump may be strong engough to keep up with fuel demand at lower RPMs, but can't keep up with demand at higher RPMs

So weirdly now, after a week since the the service, oil change, sparks changed etc. The car runs fine now, can take it above 4/5k revs and no issues at all. Ran the MHD and no codes flagged up. Only weird thing is the service check light comes on after I do a pull. (The car on the stand), odd. But she’s running I guess.

Even if the car is running, I strongly suggest you grab a log using MHD logging feature and upload it so we can tell you if both of your fuel pump are safe.

Here’s the link for a new log I’ve done today, changed cylinder one coil pack and she ran absolutely bliss. If anything seems weird or unusual in the log please let me know. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
