with the pin in place, you can mount the belt everywhere and have to deal with just the tensioner belt mounting last.
Thank you my friend! Thanks for reply.

Just completed the pulley & belt change on my '08 E92.

2 things that slowed me down.

1) Torx socket (1/2 drive) I had to release tension was too big to fit between the plastic air tube/pipe, so I ended up knocking the bit out of the socket and used a 3/8 socket (12mm I believe) to turn the Torx + cheater bar on the ratchet.

2) Similar problem to #1, hard to get a torx bit between the tensioner pulley and the air tube/pipe.

Aside from the above (mine is a MT, so only 1 bolt on fan) the process was pretty straight-forward. Belt routing perplexed me for some time, but that's on me.

I'm going to be replacing the Tensioner, pulleys and belt tomorrow and watched the FCPEuro video, the said the specs on the tensioner is 25nm + 90 degrees and pulleys are 40nm. The specs on the first page here is 38 and 40 respectively, can anyone confirm the specs? TIA

The Picture with the Torque Specs are directly from the dealership.
I had them print it out for me.

Also, 25nm seems very low.
Now the ONLY Bolts that I know that require a Torque + a 90 degree are for the Strut bar braces.
Also I had no issues at all following this till I did not own the car anymore.

Just saw the only FCP Euro video on the e90 belt tensioner and Pulley. (below)
1st, that video is for a N52 engine.
2nd, he had different Bolts, mm sizes.... N54 has Torx Bolts. so it must be different for N52 vs N54.
Good Luck

I recently preventatively replaced the serpentine belt and idler pulley. Everything was pretty straightforward but the the nipple on the upper radiator hose was extremely brittle and snapped off in the expansion tank hose line.

I've looked through a couple more videos including FCPEuro and I'll be going with 25nm (18.4 LBS) + 90 degrees on the tensioner and 40nm (29.5 LBS) on the idler pulleys.

First you should start a new thread.
The Older these cars get, the more brittle the plastic is going to be.
Just buy a New Pipe, or even a used one.
on the Link below I believe it is Part #10: 17127540127
It is not expensive on Amazon.

Thanks, I didn’t see a need to start a new thread. Just wanted to help someone who may have a similar issue while installing. I replaced with OEM parts because the nipple on the OEM upper radiator hose has an additional support piece.
