E90 n47 egr valve

Hi all, I have trawled the internet for a while now in search of how to remove and clean my egr valve on a e90 318d n47 engine, all the others I have seen have been attached to the throttle body or don't have the coolant hoses attached.
Up until the weekend I had my eml on so decide to remove the egr plastic cover to see if the arm was stuck and to see if I could free it,*
Upon removal of said cover I found it to be free and moving freely but I did push it to its max and back numerous times and to my amazement the eml went off for the last 2 days 😀😀. Also add that the engine was making a horrid grumbli g noise on approx 1500 rpm and this also stopped too.
Now today, the light has come back on and the noise too has started,,, I would like to remove the egr in case it needs a good clean or failing that replace but I am stumped with the 2 pipes that are attached to it, they have a crimped end which I have not seen before, also if I do remove these pipes can I just jubilee clip back on.*

Many thanks for reading*

Steve

And maybe just look at deleting the EGR if you don't mind the CEL. I've dealt with crimped on hoses, and I've never gotten them to refasten in a satisfactory manner. You'll probably have to replace the hose or see of you can use a worm clamp.

Thanks for quick reply,, could be an option but would prefer not to have eml on, (instant mot fail I believe now) my egr is slightly different to the one in video too,
Wonder if it's worth removing whole thing as video and swapping with one off Ebay as I have seen the whole thing on there for about £60,

Since the EGR is buried and not visible to an MOT tester I would go down the route of removal and blanking it off then getting a remap on the car to get rid of the EML.

Yes it is definitely hidden as not to be seen , with regard to remapping do you know of a rough cost for that,?
Thanks for your reply 👍

Just as a heads up for anyone in future with similar problems, replaced with 2nd hand egr and egr cooler from scrappy for fraction of cost, simple fit as above video and now have no eml on.
