12 E93/N55 Overheating

Got the warning message that the engine is overheated, want into limp mode. Let it cool off for a few minutes drove fine and got the message again. Wound up calling a tow.
Looks like it's time to replace the water pump and thermo, any recommendations?

Read the codes before deciding what to replace. Most likely the waterpump, but you'll want to be sure.

Driving it over to the shop, hopefully i don't have to pull over multiple times to let it cool off. Shops is around 7 miles away.

theres a neat little trick with these electric water pumps where you can actually get the car safely to the shop without ruining anything or needing a tow. set the heat and fan settings to full blast and make sure the vents are pointed at you. if you feel heat, the electric water pump is working. as soon as you feel the air become cold, pull over immediately and restart the car. the electric water pump will continue to work for a short period of time whenever you recycle the ignition. keep a close eye on the oil gauge and if you see it go over the halfway mark (250f) just throw in the towel and call a tow. but you should be fine to get to the shop using this little trick.
