Fitting non CA fob into CA FOB housing ?
Hi I have tried to search for the answer but I can't seem to find it.
Is it possible to take the internals from a non CA fob and put them into a CA fob but modify the non CA fob have a quick changeable battery like the CA fob has by any chance? Thanks |

AFAIK the CA and Non-CA key casings are the same except that the CA one has a removeable flap to replace the battery.
If your car does not have CA why would you want a replaceable battery anyway? Is it too much hardship to put the key in the slot when you start the car so that the battery recharges? Presumably you already have the key in hand having pressed the button to unlock the door. If you are concerned that the battery is not holding a charge then the rechargeable battery requires replacement. BMW will tell you this cannot be done but it is only bit of electronics tinkering and a case of sourcing a suitable battery. I wouldn't suggest fitting a non-rechargeable battery like the CA uses in its place though otherwise the car might try and recharge it! |

Good point on the car trying to recharge the non chargeable battery I didn't think of that.
