BMW S1000 RR Super Sport

Im back in - well ON - a Beemer again!!

Took delivery of the new toy for the summer yesterday. Without doubt one of the sexiest looking bikes ive ever owned. Ive been on GSXR 1000's for the past 10 plus years and most of my track bikes have been GSXR's too but fancied a change for this year. It was a close call between the Aprilia RSV4 and the BMW but after riding both bikes on track at Cadwell towards the end of last year the BMW was without doubt the preferred choice. The BMW kept bunny hopping over the Mountain and so I had to turn the Traction Control off and put the ECU to "Slick Mode" - which turns the bike into a balls out animal - but the end result, once i found and relocated my testicles again, was pure unadulterated fun!! I hated having to get back onto my GSXR afterwards so much that i put it up for sale the very next day and ive been hunting for the right replacement ever since!!

Im doing my ACU race licence on Sunday - not on the BMW though - and im hoping that i might enter a couple of races this year if all goes to plan - not sure what class yet but just have an itch to get back amongst it all again!

Feels great to own another BMW after such a long time!

I know nothing about bikes. Are BMW sports bikes rated then? They never used to be known for them did they?

I know nothing about "old" BMW bikes but all you have to do is spend 5 secs researching this current model to find out just how epic it is - so yes, i think its fair to say its "rated!!"

This bike is a fucking MONSTER - one of the fastest bikes in the world and one of the most extreme.

I hope your balls are big enough fella! And no I don't mean literally.

Congrats - it's gorgeous.

That looks mental fella, but like I've said before, I'm about as close now as I ever want to be - I'd be dead within a week of ownership . Take care on it Steve.

My old man has one and we went to wales him on his S1000RR and me on my bored out 1400cc 200BHP hayabusa and I struggled to pull away from him on the straights and in the bends he just flew away, I now have a fireblade and now wished I got one of these instead they are an absolute beast! I bet they are even better on the track! good luck for your ACU and your future races!

It sounded lovely with standard exhaust to be honest but i liked the look of the Akro and it gives it a nice deep tone on tickover and fruity roar on full chat - just hope the noise nazi's at trackside agree!!!

Wow - thats a great testament then! Have to say i test drove my friends BMW on track last season and it blew me away but that was with all the gizmos ON as i was too much of a pussy to turn it all off and risk binning a £12k bike!!

You sound more and more like my wife every day fella!!! But yes, take your point. Its all part of my "bucket list" - i just dont want to kick the bucket whilst trying to achieve it!! Either way its a lot safer than hooning around on the roads!
