Adaptive xenon headlight recoding question

I need to take my car to dealer and/or Indy shop soon for adaptive xenon recalibration/recoding for driver side headlight. I had the adaptive xenon malfunction light on dash after carwash weeks ago likely from water leaking in to headlight from a broken back cover. I've since replaced the adaptive xenon module ( un-coded ) and new back cover myself, and adaptive headlight malfunction light on dash is gone. However, the driver side xenon projector is pointed outward towards left ( lazy eye look ). Xenon projector still goes up and down then to left upon starting, so I think the motor/server for projector still works. Likely the new module needs recalibration/recoding back to factory specifications ( for xenon projector to point forward again ). I'm concerned because car has GIAC stage 2 software tune/flash + XHp stage 3 TCU tranny flash.

My question is that when the techs recalibrate/recode the new adaptive xenon module, do they have to recalibrate the whole car or can the bypass just to adaptive xenon headlight relcalibration : as to NOT erase or eliminate my existing flash tunes ( GIAC + XhP ). Sorry for long post and thanks in advance!

The dealership uses ISTA-P for this. Depending on your i-level, ISTA might request a software update before allowing coding of the ALC module. Since you have XHP, I'm assuming you have a K+DCAN cable. You could code the module yourself in about 30 seconds with NCS Expert.

^ thanks for input RocketSurgeon. I do have a Bimmergeeks K+ DCAN cable, but I may just have Bimmergeeks recode the ALC module remotely as I don't want to screw things up. I believe Bimmergeeks provides remote coding services if my memory serves me right. Going to try to avoid the dealership in this case.

Had local Indy shop do the recoding. All is good now and adaptive xenon projectors are both pointed forwards. Cost me 85$ but totally worth it !
