MULF2 worked with C08 but people kept saying combox wouldn't work on C08 other than USB/AUX. bluetooth connects (showing connected on my phone) but will get stuck at connecting on the idrive screen and they were saying it was because combox wasn't in the 2009 and was the old MULF2 till 2011 if i remember correctly.

I'm talking to someone about updating the CIC to CA1 very soon which will probably solve all my problems.. I may go ahead and install the original 2RAD to get my software from Progman to ISTA then update the cic to the latest I level including the media.
Is there someone local that can flash the CIC? I also want to get on CA1 and am also in JAX. thanks

Ok thanks for the info. I am in the same boat as you as I can code and flash but don't have icom and would only need it for CIC. I may attempt to flash it over ethernet. Just waiting on some OBD pins so I can wire up the OBD to the CIC.

See i'm in a pre LCI 2008 so my obd doesn't have Ethernet. I know you can update using winkfp with Ethernet but not in my case. There was a shop that could use ista/p with LCI to update but they all just went back to bmw last week.

My appololy my CIC is C09 and my MEDIA combox is C05 I did the coding blank files on the cic/combox, did the VO fa_writes and also changed combox to coding_vin and mine gets stuck at "paring completed.connecting..."

where does yours get stuck at?

Mine does not get stuck but I am on C16. I just want C1A so I can get rid of my emulator. http://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=23198

I am also retrofited pre-lci. You can wire up ethernet from CIC to OBD by adding 5 wires. Not sure how may people have done this or how long it will take to flash this way. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=28

Yeah I need to get off the emulator as well since I want to do rear camera and can't do it with the emulator.. Yeah i'm on c09 so mine gets stuck i'm pretty sure c09 won't work with the bn2000 combox but maybe the MULF2 so I've been working on the retrofit for about 7 months now and just waiting for someone to let me use the Icom.

I know 2 places that have icoms but couldn't do it since they use ista/p and it shows only CCC and won't let me get them WINKFP lol but its Automaxx off beach blvd and Bavarian Renn sport on Mayport (that is Shawn shop and I've been in talks with him about letting him let me use the icom on my machine)

Let me know if that works out for you, I would be willing to pay just to plug my CIC to your car for the update lmfao

I'm out in Bartram Park

I will let you know if I have any luck playing around with ethernet. My CIC is retrofited in the E70 so I am not sure if I could flash yours. The E90 is retrofited also but with MASK LCI HD radio + MULF2 which was not available in 2006.

Did you ever run the donor vin?

I've personally retrofitted my Idrive into a non idrive e90 I went from a 2rad to cic and retrofitted from MULF2 to Combox

The features aren't really needed it's just more of CIC plugged in and running Winkfp with the correct addresses regardless of the VO's so it should work.

Not sure what you mean by running the donor vin? I have the donor vin when I did the 2017 maps and have the emulator that's about it.

Put your donor car vin in the page below. It will allow you to download a file. Put it on a USB drive and plug it into the arm rest usb. If the software is newer than what you have, the CIC will display an update button in the system area (I think) This is not a full software update but a small update that specifically updates the combox to support newer bluetooth devices.

interesting.. I will look into this!

I've notice there is a post from the link you provided by bimmergeeks that back in july of this year they advertised of renting out their icoms.. I've shot them a email since they are located in Atlanta GA to see what I can do from there or if I can just mail them my CIC.

If some reason they do icom rentals, i'll send u a pm if I get it in hand.

Link above did not paste right. I fixed it but you can also get he software here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1061869

Also, When I did mine, I put the USB in and had to wait 5 or so minutes for the Update option on the screen to become active.

Noting came up from using the CIC vin since it was below 2010. I will see if I can pull the combox donor vin. Now, my CIC doesn't have the software update option like I've seen with the other CIC's and this is probably due to cic software as this one was when it was attached to a MULF2
