Shot in the dark... do you have a non-sport package? (not sure if this applies to 335is)

Non-sport packaged 135is have a 130 MPH top speed, due to the tires.

17 inch wheel is also limited to 130

Because the stock tyres on 17" wheels are not approved for faster - or so was the excuse I got from my dealer.

take the JB off and find out.

if you swear you did 150 before, who am i to argue. non sport is limited to 130ish as previously posted.

if the JB is causing you not to reach 150... I wonder how the configuration is damaging your car turbo,timing,gas/air mixture. Nothing like pushing a car that can do more but wont because of a problem = spells disaster.

you should post this question on terry's forums too.

How do you disable the speed limit on a non-sport package car?

The non-sport and 17" wheels have tires with wires that are not made to withstand the centrifugal forces generated by those speeds. They actually deform and blow-out if the velocity is sustained. They will also overheat and the "steel belt" wires embeded in the rubber breakdown. Its no urban myth, either. Its simple physics at work. Actually a brief moment of excessive spinning speeds wont do too much damage, but exeeding the limits of the tire is playing with fire. You don't want a blowout even at a 100mph, leave alone those crazy speeds. Even your ultimate driving machine cant handle blowouts at 100mph very well. It usually is disasterous for the guy seating behind the wheel. All the tires have maximum speed ratings on the tire wall. VR tires for example are rated to handle rotational forces generated by speeds in excess of 130mph. Here is a good resource:

The only reason you are not able to get above 135 is due to you not having the sport package. Plain and simple the non sport package is limited to around 130.

i doubt you could hit 150 without the sport pkg

on a down hill, you might edge 140, but not 150

but if you do swear on it, do what the other guy said: take off the tune and see what happens

There is nothing out that allows a non sport to go faster than 130 other than Procede rev1 and RevII....Non of the JB products allow speed delimiter...Either your smoking some nice greens, your were looking at the wrong number on the speedo...

I simply meant that I never looked at my tyre speed rating, and presumed that the speed rating the dealer said the 17" tyres came with was accurate.
