Thanks!
It's the good old Alufelgen SF-71 sold as brand "Ocean" wheel type "Caribien" in Sweden & Denmark, but still having the "Alufelgen" brand cut or cast into the side of the wheel

Thanks! "Not too much not too little" seems like a good summary.

Worth mentioning is that the (euro) car "only" has two catalysts on the respective exhaust manifolds. Which would probably mean that fitting that Schmiedmann system on a US-market car would require deletion of the secondary catalysts.

I’m about to change mine a bit, adding AA ceramic coated catless headers. Just waiting to do the install and tune. More power...More sound!

Here's my contribution. E91 328i with the PE muffler only. The midpipes/resonator are still stock, for now. Sorry in advance for the short, choppy video:

Do you get any drone under heavy load around 2-3k RPM like getting on the case while you're cruising on the freeway sitting in 6th gear (2-3k RPM)?

No drone while cruising at freeway speeds, but yes, if I had to gas it to pass someone or go up a hill, there is slight drone.

I finally got around to getting a cold-start clip of mine. I also recorded some revs and fly-by's, but unfortunately I had forgotten to affix my "dead kitty" wind guard, so the audio didn't turn out very pleasing. I'll get some more videos soon, before I mod my secondary cats and/or headers. Cheers

Revamping and old thread but here goes.

Exhaust setup is AA n52 headers, resonator delete custom y pipe, secondary cat delete, muffler delete. All is 2.5 stainless exhaust. Truly straight piped and definitely obnoxious! Truly love the sound under heavy loads and downshifts, just hate the instant scream from 2300-3k rpm especially when just trying to cruise. It does drone, but when crusing and windows up it's really not noticeable unless rpm gets into aforementioned range (I believe that's when vanos is adjusting? Not sure honestly)

Clip after the headers were installed which made the largest difference as I had all the exact mods prior to the headers.

Here's a quick fly by

I plan on going 3in true duals all the way with an xpipe instead of y pipe. Definitely going to get muffler and possibly a resonator. I want the decibel level down slightly but only when cruising. Even thought about going the VAREX exhaust route so I can control the entire thing depending on the day and location. Plan on tracking the car soon for fun so I'm not sure yet.

Does anyone have any recommendations if I like the stock 'tone' but would just like it to be a little louder at higher RPMs?

Swap your secondary out with a high flow/race cat

Thanks man. That's sort of what I was thinking -- just replacing the secondary cats with straight pipes or resonators and leaving everything else alone.

Does anyone have any recording of such a setup?

When you installed the secondary delete ss midpipes. Were you able to retain the oem clamps that are connected to the trans? I have the AFE mid pipe and I was not able to retain the trans to exhaust mounts. Can you provide pics please!!

I retained them. They don’t fit perfectly because the spacing between the pipes was different, or their diameter, I can’t remember, but they will still support the exhaust and clamp them tightly.

I know this is a very old topic. Looking for a budget exhaust mod for my E91 Did we ever find out which Magnaflow? this one sounds great and looks to be the simplest.
