Ended up getting some cheapie quad tips for $45 shipped. They checked every single box:

Dual Walled
Staggered
3.5" (4" looks odd, especially w/ dual wall)

Now to just figure out how to remove this laser etching

Nothing at all wrong with "cheapie". I believe those are the same ones I had on my e92.

Sorry about that, accidentally edited it.

So I am debating between these two tip options. One is dual rolled (Which I like alot) the other has some baffling. Since I am doing a muffler delete w/ catless downpipes, I just have to figure out how the rear end is going to look.

(These are cheap stainless tips)

I wanted to go 4", but it looked too large. I think quad 3.5" is perfect.

Added bonus, before and after for the skirts. Night and day difference. It's also crazy how much the mirrors add to the presence now that they are off.

It will be interesting to see how the muffler shop reroutes the tailpipes in the small area post/muffler.

Make sure you put in 1792 HF Resonators
, or you may get HWY drone & rasp

I rarely drive this car. It's my "Fun" car. I have a set of catless DP's, but will just be doing a muffler delete for now.

I actually sort of like the BMW rasp. Many hate it, but I like it. I will probably do two resonators where the secondary cats are.

Yep, most people replace the secondary cats with Vibrant 1792, 2 1/2". It's a slightly better Resonator than the 1790 & it's much easier to install. The stock pipes are 2.38". So, much easier to slide it over the stock pipe, then cobble something to a 2 1/4" pipe (resonator)

I agree with mweis. I did the same thing you're planning on doing and it was an absolute fucking nightmare. The issue isn't the rasp at all, it's the gawd damn drone. I don't remember the exact RPM for this issue, I think it was like 2300-3500, but I know it was putzing around town and highway cruising speeds where it was unbearable. I have friends with straight piped old school V8 pony cars, and this drone sounded just as bad as they did, if not worse at times. It gave me a headache after like 10 mins of driving. After a couple months I couldn't take it anymore and did the 1792 resonators out to dual mufflers and it sounded so much better. Luckily for me, it still kept the raspiness. I'm with you on liking that sound as well.

A sound clip after I had it "fixed".

Save yourself the literal headache, and get some cheap custom work done.

*Edit* Stupid YouTube link won't work on this site for me... Search "BMW E92 335i Custom Exhaust Setup" if you want to hear the clip.

That helps quite a bit. Thank you for the information and the video. It's hard to find all of the information for these custom applications. I'm not just slapping a VRSF cat back on and calling it a day.

I have two resonators laying around. I am going to play around with different set up's and see what is best. My phone camera died yesterday, so I am waiting on a replacement. Should have some updates soon!

So a few updates. The exhaust tips just came in and the are literally perfect. For $40 shipped, I cannot complain one bit. I just do not like the etching on the side.

Camera should be fixed on Thursday. I am hopefully bringing the car to a friends for a few days to iron out the rest of the body work and get the exhaust welded up.

The right side mirror parts also came in today.

I REALLY need to sell my E90 but I have been lazy posting it up. I need to do the valve cover and motor mounts.

Here are some pictures of the tips. Excuse my crappy rug, its there for a reason haha.

Sunday I will be able to bring my car to the other shop for some more space to work. It's going to be amazing to see everything come together. I got another camera so I will document the work when I am a settled in there.

Updates soon to come!

These FINALLY came in. The car was missing all but one. A pain in the but when you are low and need to quickly take a wheel off.

Time to get serious. Finally got the car into the shop. Had to put everything back in order to drive it over. This week I will have some updates. The REAL paint work will not be done for at least a month or two, so I have something special for the mean time

I was also able to get a new windshield installed. Old one had a crack in the center towards the top that was growing.

I am so excited to get everything together this week!

Do you have any plans of getting an M3 replica hood?

Honestly, All of the after market options suck. I think I am going to wait until a wrecked one shows up locally so I can cut out the power bulge and vents. That will be the final step when I get some actual paint laid. I have found a few hoovering around $300ish which is not too bad.

For now I have some vents that look pretty good. These N54's run hot so some ventilation would help.

You can get a carbon fiber hood replica M3 and have it painted.

The hood is like $750.00

Paint might run you $400-500.00.

This seems like quite the project but so cool. For under $3k why the hell not. I cannot stand those crappy “matte” wrap jobs. Kind of curious if you’ve got to the root of the problems it had when your bought it.

The Check engine light has been gone for weeks. One of the injectors had a leak. I'm not sure the others are 100% but car drives very well. Leaks a bit of oil though. Another thing I have to tackle.

One the thing looks presentable, I'll start doing some other modifications / maintenance. It's a fun little project for me and this is a 3rd vehicle so I can leave it out of commission.

So I was looking at the new rear bumper last night. Pulled it out of the box and saw this:

The clips are almost broken. I have not even attempted to install this yet. I emailed the company to see what they say....

What would you guys do about this? It's obviously going to break. The bumper was not "Cheap" but it was very expensive for what it was.

If 2 of these tabs break, I know there are going to be fitment issues.

Ran into some issues regarding the rear bumper tabs. Thankfully the seller is working with me to make it right. Unlike PULLING TEETH from Umnitza.

Big things happening this week. I am pretty damn excited.

Care to share who you got the bumper from? Sounds like a decent connection if they make it right.

Looking forward to the progress, I have to live vicariously through you for a couple months until I can make it back stateside.
