A/C leak always on same spot on nordic countries.

Passenger side, next to the windshield fluid filling white hose. Exactly where the high pressure sensor is . There's no fender liner there, so the wheel splash on the aluminum AC piping.
I did not find a cheap AC line, they are about 200$ cad, easy removal easy install.

You can get it welder by a pro welder, but its a hit or miss.

pretty sad, imagine a E9x where x=anything, being sold for $379 USD. Never would have thought that would happen.

I thought they leak from the evaporator? I had to top up my a/c this summer, I will see how bad the leak is if the a/c works next summer.

Does it leak from this line slowly? Is there any posts on it?

depends how the corrosion is . It starts around the sensor socket.

Mine was pretty bad. Went to the salvage yard, on 6 e90, 2 didnt have the ac line on, and 4 got the same corrosion issue.

my 2007's AC had stopped cooling. I've always been a believer in the 'it should never leak' mentality, but i got it refilled summer 2018, no leaks detected, nothing repaired, and it still worked just fine this week.

PM me with your phone number, but the price won't be 500$ CAD for you, that's just a friends and co-workers price.

well, after all of the repairs, assuming you don't go to the mechanic, it ends up being market price. I've seen the same specs offered for 4000 CAD. We don't have free shipping from the states, and we need to pay sales tax on anything imported (maybe even duties too). It's probably cheaper to repair it if in the US. Plus that rough idle can be anything, not just engine coils and spark plugs, which requires a garage to work on. I found a well maintained '08 328i, with documentation of repairs, RWD, manual, 190k km, sport package, real leather, but it's 6.5k CAD.

my first car was $700 and junk! But I was 19 and I loved it. 4 speed Volvo with ice cold air and rusted out everywhere (I should just name where it wasn't rusted out).

but $379 for a E9x heck if it drives and passes inspection it could run only 1 mo. and it'd be worth it. The steering is imho a 90/100 i.e. top notch.

It needed 2k minimum of repairs to pass inspection, not sure about the rough idling whether it's safety related or not

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, pleased to meet everyone on here! I am being offered a 2008 328xi by one of my co-workers for 500$. Before you guys freak out at the price, it obviously needs repairs. It has 240,000km, my co-worker owned it for two years, bought it for 7000$. Owner replaced front shocks and springs, starter, oil filter housing (no leaks there or on the valve cover gasket), two crankshaft positioning sensors, three coils and spark plugs, differential oil. Here's a rundown of the problems and repairs it needs, based on the pre-purchase inspection I paid for;

All 4 tires need replacing (only one OEM set of rims, R16's)
Brakes and rotors need replacing
Both front control arms on each side need replacing
Rear shock absorbers need replacing
A/C needs a refill (based on owner's words), A/C seems to work
Misfires on cylinders 1,2,3 (owner says needs engine coils and spark plugs)
stored code for oxygen pre-cat sensor and coolant temperature sensor
Current code for transmission oil wear (assume fluid was never changed)
needs alignment
needs battery replaced
Oil pan sweating (repair shop says small enough to pass safety inspection)

Owner serviced car at MrLube, but every 4000km (synthetic, but doubt it was LL-01)

Anyway, I know this is a lot of work to do, but I am planning to have this as a second car for fun and repair it myself (found a place where you rent the workshop with tools for 30$/hour in the GTA, my buddy who worked at a dealership offered to help for free). Some background info; 25yo, live in a condo (wish they had a place to hoist cars in the garage), my daily driver is a 2012 Volvo S60 T6, pretty trouble free in the 4 years that I've owned it, I do some work on it myself.

My question is this, do you guys think it's worth it to get this car for myself or not? I'm not planning to flip it or part it out, I'm a car guy and don't mind working on it myself.

Why isn’t he fixing it up?

Don’t waste your money or time. Save up and maintain your s60 and then get something nicer and newer in a few years.

He already put 3k into it, I guess he got tired of it. He had a honda civic before and wants one now. He's not really a car guy, I offered him to fix it up and it would serve him many years to come, he didn't feel like it. I've been taking care of my s60, it serves me very well, for Canada it's a great car, I wouldn't buy one in Germany though, it's made for a different climate and speed limit. I've been thinking of getting the new S6 or S7 in a few years, or maybe the new 540xi when they start coming off lease. 3-5 years old is the best price for getting a car, they already lose 65-80% of their price by that time.

Yeah I have both too. I specifically asked bimmergeeks on their FB channel about resetting the transfer case and they replied yes you can do that. Come to find out you actually cannot until their next update.

Not really happy with either of them.

I’ll prolly just pay a coder to our INPA on my computer now and throw the others in the trash.
