It's a rare manual and the best engine, so what am I missing? Maybe I should try under classic cars...
this would be scooped up in the US in like 5 seconds

This forum is not as busy now, have you tried eBay or auto trader.

I paid 8k for mine 1 year ago. It was less miles and 1 owner msport. But Yours is worth at least the money you advertising easily

If not I am worried for the value of mine!

I agree. Your price is very fair. Same colour as my ‘92 btw.
Good luck.

Haha, he is desperate for a 330i it seems.

Did he tell you how much of an investment that painting was too.

He has been doing the rounds.

Mate, take the seats out £400

Take out the nav and controller £300

Interior trim £100

Wheels £200+

Rear blackline lights £150

Xenon lights and ballasts £400

Sport steering wheel and air bag £150

Dampers and springs £300

Then speak to a local garage and ask who can get the rest, someone will pay you to take it away as they will weigh in the cats and get good money for them.

If you have winter wheels as well you can even leave it on wheels making it much easier.

Removing all that can be done in a day no problem at all.

Is it overheating?

Have you got the temperature up in the obc?

I would that and see what happens before going any further.

Also, double check the plug going into the thermostat is in properly, have known them not to be and the car just gets doesn't monitor correctly.

I would get the temp up on the obc first, see what it says and then check the connector. Undo it and plug it back in again, see if the temp reading changes.

Go into the 'hidden menu' - a search will reveal numerous how-to's

Do you have access to a laptop, cable, and inpa? You can view the status of the pump there.

Where are you based?

Inpa is BMW diagnostic software. It's freely available from a few sources now, Bimmergeeks being the most common.

OBC is the on board computer...which is what folk commonly call the display between the tach/odometer.

No harm in reading codes, but it won't help beyond displaying fault codes (which is no bad thing!). Shame you're so far away, otherwise I'd be tempted to come and see, even if it was just to help out with diagnostics (I'm down south).

When you try to activate the pump, you are pressing the start button twice so the whole dash lights up?

This is the sequence....

1.Insert the key into the dash slot and hit the starter button (but don’t start the engine – e.g. keep your foot off the bake/clutch).

2When the ignition is on, set the heater to the highest temperature and set the fan on low.

3.Hold down the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds then release.

This activates the water pump and it will cycle for about 12 minutes to vent all the trapped air into the coolant reservoir (it sounds like a min washing machine).

Don’t open the reservoir cap or bleed screw during the venting process! (you’ll have start the process again)
In your case do it with the lid off to see if it starts.

4. Once the water pump stops after 12 minutes, open the reservoir cap (it will hiss a little) and add coolant until the measuring stick (ball indicator) is 6 mm above the top of the filler neck.

There is also a fuse 30 or 40a in the compartment in the bonnet, this is for the water pump.

Check to make sure that is OK if the pump won't do its bleed cycle.

Also, you MUST check your thermostats are working.

If they are not working properly you pump not not kick in.

If you pump is not working, the main fan should start on start up, it is a safety feature.
If the fan is kicking in straight away then I would check the fuse.

What do you mean nothing happens?

You can't get into the hidden menu? The pump doesn't activate?

How do you know it is overheating?

It’s so rare for head gasket failure on these I think start with the basics:

Have they really replaced the thermostat along with the water pump?

Check power supply is getting to both.

Once warm feel top and bottom hoses of radiator to see where the heat is?

Is the radiator blocked?
Never heard of this on an E90 and some of my
Ones have been up to 200k miles but worth checking.

Sniff test of coolant would give immediate clue.
Compression test across 6 cylinder next step.

All fairly easy to do before selling it for spares.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the electric water pump. I think surely there's a multimeter test you could do though? Measure voltage across the power wires to the motor, mainly, I guess?

You need to get someone to plug in diagnostics.

It could be something as simple as a shorted connector.
