I found this FAQ where you can read possible causes for a variety of error messages on INPA....

I am having this error message: SYS-0005: OBJECT FILE NOT FOUND. Program will be stopped!

and verified the reason for that is:
The SGBD is not located in the path C:\Ediabas\Ecu.

Would somebody please help me to find this SGBD !!??
Not sure yet whether is it a file or folder.
Tried to find it available for download with no lucky so far.

Any help / suggestion appreciated.

It came with INPA 5.00 and 5.06 and seems to work perfectly (only tried INPA not NCS yet)

can anyone tell me the default coding values for CIC with TCU and MULF2? I bought a used CIC that was coded for COMBOX. I flipped all the settings that seemed obvious and I'm part of the way there, but bluetooth is behaving weird. Like pairing then unpairing, not really working.

Default code it using expert mode, done.

Where did everyone buy their cables from? I bought one from eBay and then found out it only works for cars produced up until 09/2008. My car was built 04/2009. Thanks!

I bought mine from ebay. The vendor said it only worked with XP. Got an XP laptop and go iit to work.

Don't believe that, it's not true for all cheap cables. Give it a shot first before you look else where.

I can make a video to prove it if someone believes otherwise.

Eh, I made INPA and NCSExpert work on my Windows 8 so I thought I would be fine. I guess I will try finding an XP laptop then...

I had the VIN is faulty error on NCSExpert, COAPI-2000, SYS-0005...I did a little research which suggested it might be the cable

Holy 235 pages...

I have a cable that came with the HP Tuner I bought for my GM's a while back. I think I'll download the software and give it a try just to see what happens. I seem to have an frm that has permanently shut off a tail light because the previous owner didn't replace the bulb.

I got a link to downloads from another member on bimmerfest, but nothing seemed to work right and he didnt seem to have a clue as his excuse was he owned an f10 and never programmed Exx's.
Is there a straight forward how-to with links and without having to shuffle through a million irrelevant posts on the subject?

The first post seems to have a how-to. I am also new to coding BMWs.

My laptop decided to stop charging last night, something with windows 10 battery drivers not letting it so it will only charge when it is shut off. Can't even try it without my laptop. SMH.

Here's a link to a youtube video I made showing how to use the BMW Coding tool to code. This is assuming that you have the software installed and working and that you have a working cable as well.

4. Restarted my machine. Plugged the cord into my car, then plugged it into my machine, connected the cord via VirtualMachine to the VM, Windows recognized it. Opened INPA. INPA displayed "RUNNING" but no Battery or Ignition indicator. Flipped the ignition on, still nothing.

I'm not really sure if I forgot something that wasn't documented anymore or what. Any guidance would be much appreciated. I really need to get my battery replaced and I'm not going to do that until I have this working so I can register the new one.

I am getting the same error code when trying to access any module. I can read and erase error codes but it seems I'm missing my group files? I used the links provided on page 1. installed the standard tools then replaced the folders with the v49 folders. are the linked downloads missing the group files? Am I safe to used NCS-expert without group files? Anyone got a link to group files for an e90? Any help is appreciated

I'll keep sifting through the thread for clues
