I just want to be totally clear on this.... If I got either a 325xi or 330xi and then decided to get a body kit (M-Technik for example) this wouldn't be voiding the warranty right? It's just mostly on performance mods?

Correct, this would not void the warranty and performance mods would only void the warranty if a problem occurs and then in a limited scope (i.e. engine warranty might be voided but the rest of the car´s warranty would still be in force).

I think what's more important than, "will it or won't it void my warranty" is do we know of anyone who has had a problem and had their warranty voided?

I think it's safe to say that mild chip modifications aren't going to frag a turbo or a motor...some of these modifications only result in changing the parameters to reflect higher altitudes...so the car itself, in stock form, could run the same parameters as what will be modified with the "chip"...sorry if this doesn't make sense you guys.

yes, there is someone who went in for some unrelated work and had their warranty voided when the dealer found evidence of Procede installed. The person's HPFP went bad a couple of weeks later and he's screwed because BMW will not fix it under warranty. A BMW service tech looked up his VIN and the fact the warranty is voided is on electronic record for any dealer and BMW to see. There are a couple of threads on it.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought I read on Dinan's website that if you buy and install their products at an authorized Dinan dealer you can still retain your factory warranty. Anybody have any good experiences with factory warranty and Dinan mods?

Dinan matches the factory 4/50 warranty including the possibility of consequential damage. However, your 335i must have either the factory oil cooler (not all do) or Dinan's oil cooler system (about 2 grand).

My car had the factory oil cooler installed, so no worries. And the software is absolutely tits - my car flies.

My understanding, from my BMW dealership and from Dinan, is that Dinan upgrades are covered under warranty. They will not void the BMW warranty and any "finger pointing" between the two will be handled directly between Dinan and BMW. I've also learned that some BMW dealerships are authorized Dinan dealerships (Flemington BMW NJ for example). I was also specificly told, that warranty work relating to Dinan parts may require the work to be done at a Dinan BMW dealership instead of a normal BMW dealership. Can anyone verify this?

BMW Software?

Has anyone heard of BMW coming out with it's own software upgrades?
Multiple dealers told me it's in the works but I gotta see it to believe it.
