Have you done anything more with your special N 52 build?

no, I have not had any time for projects, but I have stepped over the head a couple times in my garage, lol. I figured I'd be working 24 or 32 hours a week now (with the shutdown), and using vacation time - but I haven't taken a day off since last November.

I'm in the same boat. We prepared for the worst and now Sales are "on fire" We've had a few really good months of Sales/bookings and now we need to fill the orders. Tough.

I know this is wrong, but I was really expecting / selfishly hoping for a few months of reduced activity. I really want a vacation. Have not taken any time off since Fall of 2018

There is a set of supposedly N52 cams for sale near me for 500. Guy says they're BNIB Schrick Performance Cams so I think it might be the mislabeled n54 ones.

Guy says they're 238° intake with 10.6 lift and 256° with 10.65 lift on the exhaust.

I suppose that intake lift with MILVs would lead to a final 11.6 of lift. Since the stock intake goes from 9.7 to 10.7 with MILVs.

Those values make no sense for an N52. The intake duration should not be less than the exhaust. Also, N52 intake cams look very different from the exhaust. Be interesting to see what those are though, I bet they're for the N54, which will not fit the N52 intake side.

Seems like VAC MS now has a set:
https://store.vacmotorsports.com/sch...n52-p5326.aspx

Duration: 238/272

Lift: 10.60/10.50

Can't find the stock numbers but based on my recent MILVs install and a very brief email chat with Marty from 2020, the next best thing according to him was to pick up a N55 exhaust cam and test fit it in the N52 paired with the MILVs.

I would imagine that this might be the best option to avoid having to get all new rollers/lifters to match the new cams since reusing the old parts that make contact may cause premature wear, but I'm not 100% sure of that on this engine.

they are listed on Schrick's site now - but as out of stock. and the specs don't match VAC's description:
https://schrick.com/search?search=N52

I wonder if the duration measurement on the intake is because of how the cams are ground. I always wanted to measure it at the valve itself to get a better reading, because it changes depending on the VVT position.

Looking at the camshaft, MFG number is for E46 M54 and the solid lifters in the description mention M50, M52, S50, S52 and M54 engines. So ESC got their vehicle search up wrong for that.

M54 and M52Tu cams are the same - but they are completely different from N52 cams.

Shrick does make N52 cams, I believe they are on VACs website.

I know that’s what I’m telling him.
With the VAC Cams, I know about that I didn’t mention
Edit: I was just saying that the website was incorrect on the data. As they had selected all bmw models for in compatibility so that’s why it showed up with the N52s
