BMW 328i 2007, BREAK PADS HELP

Hi guys,

Its time to replace my breakpads, looks like many options available...

Can someone recommend me good break pads, or tell me where to buy the OEM ones?

I do city driving only, and use the breaks aggressively

BMW 328i 2007

Also is it safe to change the breaks my self? I have done sparkplug change, oil change, and ABS sensor replacement by myself, how does break change compare

Thanks!

[HERE] is a list of vendors - I often buy from Turner.

Brake job is easy - you'll need a floor jack & jack stands. Insert a block of 4x4 between floor jack & pad to prevent pad damage - pads are plastic! When jacking on rear differential, do NOT include the diff cover in the contact patch. Rumored to be made of tin foil, cover WILL deform and likely fail/leak, a bad thing.

See the air/impact wrench in the pic below? Makes working on your beast massively easier - wrench & compressor highly recommended.

Please use torque wrench when re-installing wheels! Bolt torque is 88 ft lb, star pattern.

Rear Brake Job

Oof! Annoying that the YouTube video window can't appear on this board....ride on jack stands:

And let's have a good look at those rotors....the minimum thickness is engraved on them. If close or below minimum - measure w/micrometer - def replace.

Thinned rotors result in pulsing brakes, every time. A major irritation, and most change rotors every time pads are changed as minimum thickness generally occurs half way through the second set o'pads. You could buy rotors then, but you'll have done the job twice, so t'speak.

Up to you....I do rotors when I do pads.

I basically use rockauto for all my braking needs. Even with exchange and shipping/duties it usually always works out cheaper than anything I can find locally. I've had great success with the Centric high carbon fully coated rotors with the posi-quiet pro pads. Super good non OEM alternative.
