Plastic Support Ring For Fuel Tank??
Hey everyone,
I had to change out the fuel pump and the plastic ring on the neck of the tank basically broke. I can't seem to find that part anywhere and BMW says they don't sell it separate or even have a part number for it. I've been scouring the net for it but it seems the only way to get it is to buy a new tank. My tank is good, I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a $2 piece of plastic. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this a common issue on the tanks? I've attached a picture to show the part I need. |

Oof. How did it happen? How were you removing it?
I don't know how the ring is set into the tank. I'm guessing it's clipped in somehow. Yep, you're right, there is no separate part for it. You'll need to find a used fuel tank and try to remove it. Will the metal collar still lock in, or is it completely broken? All I can find is this for the E60: https://theismotorsport.com/new-genu...1-16146750466/ |

Hey OP quick update. I found this:
16141182903 It's a fuel tank pump support ring for a BMW motorcycle, but supposedly this is a relatively universal part. People say this can be used on the E46. Maybe it'll work on the E90 as well? Worth a shot for $10. https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/pr...ft-ring903.htm Also give the people over at Fuel-It! a call. They know these fuel systems inside and out. Let us know what you find out. Hopefully you can get a cheap solution. Last edited by Welcome to NBA Jam; 07-10-2020 at 07:54 PM.. |

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

That will be easy and cheap to get at a you pull it yard. You can search for pre-lci cars at the links below. Run the vins to make sure they are not N51 engines as they have a different tank.
