Tpms malfunction bc of dead sensor?
Question: if one sensor fails does the whole system go down?
I ask bc i know i have one out. But i also know it’s possible themmoduke hnderneath my car may be damaged. So is getting a “tpms malfunction” normal when one sensor is bad? None of my tires will read. |

Yes. If one of the sensors is bad, or the battery of sensor is dead, then a message on the iDrive will indicate a TPMS malfunction error and you cannot reset it. Well, that's what recently happened on my 2010 E92 335i after replacing the tires. When I took it back to the tire shop, they found 2 sensors with dead batteries and so they replaced them at no charge. After that, the TPMS system reset and all was good.
