Question Will 255/35 tires fit 10'' wheel?

I know that 10 inches is 254 mm and the tire is 255, and I know that technologically 255 is the narrowest tire I can mount on 10 inch wheel.

The question is if I mount 255 tire on 10 inch wheel will I get any issues with thread wear or anything like that. I mean will I get anything bad that I wouldn't get with 275 tire?

Btw, does anybody have pictures of such tire wheel combination?

You should run a 265/30/19 tire on it, unless your having fender clearance issues and dont want to roll them.

Ive run a 235/35/19 on a 10.5" rim so a 255/35/19 is not an issue. Its tall, but will fit.

It will be some stretch, and I would personally go with 265/35 on a 18x10 (assuming it's 18") if that wouldn't rub.

255 is totally fine on a 10" wheel, though it will give off a slight stretch. For a more square tire, I would recommend a 265 tire as well.

255 is what TireRack recommends for our cars with a 10" rear wheel. I chose to go up to 265. If you do run a 255 you'll probably want to run a higher pressure to keep the centers of the tires from going concave because of the stretch. You'll also have very little, if any, sidewall to protect the wheels.

Here's a pic of my 265/35-18 RE760 Sport on a BBS 18x10 wheel. Looks nice but no protection to speak of.

255 fits just fine. Many prefer the way a 265 looks on a 10" wheel.

I don't understand why no one runs a 9.5 rim with a 275????

They fit with no rubbing at all

Wouldn't recommend it if you can fit a 265.

265 = Less stretch = better protection of the 10" rim.

I was considering two wheels for the rear of my 2012 E92 with 19's. One is the Avant Garde M510 and the other is the VMR710. Both come in 8.5 for the front but the AG is 9.5 in the rear and the VMR is a 10. Since I want to re-use my brand new 255/30/19 tires AND still have some sidewall protrusion beyond the rim, I suspect I will have to go with the AG, right? The VMR with a 255/30/19 tire will have metal just waiting for a curb, no?
