IPhone 4 + BMW handsfree bluetooth = laggy phone calls?
I've noticed that when talking over my hands free bluetooth (with my iphone 4) there are times when there must be a bit of a time lag, because when either myself or the person on the other end try to talk at the same time it seems that one or the other has to stop and say "Sorry, go ahead..." because we can't seem to hear each other at the same time.
Has anyone else noticed this effect? And is the culprit the iphone, or the carrier, or something to do with the bluetooth connection and/or hardware? Its kind of annoying, losing that real-time feeling you normally have when talking to someone on a phone. Its almost like you have to treat the conversation like you're using walkie-talkies. (ie. one person speaks, pause, then next person speaks....) |

I'm also using an iphone 4 in my 08 e92 335i and I always use
bluetooth call when driving. I haven't had any time lag issues. Maybe your phone is slow?? Did you jailbreak your phone? (mine's jailbroken though) Have too many apps? Try the bluetooth call with other phones. |

I think it might be the iphone and not related to the car.
I don't use the 'phone' aspect of my iphone very often, ironically. But when I was using the handset to make a call recently I thought I noticed a bit of the same phenomena. Weird... |

Jailbroken iPhone 4 paired with new iDrive and experience no lag during calls. Although, for whatever reason, iDrive won't resume my songs after I end my calls.
