Pure Stage 2 on pump 91
I don't have access to e85 and I really don't want to deal with meth. I only have 91 here. Is Pure stage 2 or any turbo upgrade worth it for 91? I do have a much faster weekend car so this is just my daily but I have been spoiled coming from a 700whp m5

Edit: Hey guys, I have been running the Pure Stage 2 for 8 months now, and went through all the steps of tuning it to doing an s55 flywheel to get the power out of it on a heart breaker dyno. 515 whp and 525 ft/lbs. This is by far the best turbo you can buy at this time for the N55. Hopefully Pure has something up their sleeve as it would be nice to see a stage 3 option in the future. Well that's good to know.. Everyday driveability is really my biggest reservation about getting PS2. So how is it on that front?

Definitely worth it IME. Fuel will obviously be your limiting factor but even on plain 91 octane the PS1 and PS2 turbos make a very noticeable difference, especially with the right supporting mods and a good custom tune. I don't think you'll make >400 WHP on 91 octane and its definitely not an M5, but much better than stock turbo if you have the coin.

Models with Boost Solenoids you can use a BoostBOX from MOTIV to control a MAC solenoid. BOV just needs a nipple on added to the manifold for vacuum. Then you just use an N54 charge pipe with a TIAL BOV.

For the guys worried about PS2 driveability, don't worry. The turbo spools like stock and the power feels endless. I have a 135 MSport DCT with a PS2 and I already have LSD and need to go to a 275 to keep the car hooked up at 20 PSI with E30 and Meth. Trust me, you won't be disappointed in the power the car makes and just normal driving, you really can't tell it's an upgraded turbo car until you stand on it and the power never ends.

My N55 E90 6AT is my DD and it is extremely smooth and a pleasure to drive in all conditions. For normal driving around town it is a total sleeper, can't tell it from any other 3 series on the road. But put it in S or M mode and step on it and it becomes another animal, even for normal DD stuff like getting on the freeway or passing slower cars (i.e. everyone else). Getting to 90-100 mph is quick and effortless. It is not a cheap mod and you should have FMIC, CP and DP too IMO. Also get the Pure inlet and DV+ while you're at it. And the N20 TMAP. Whether or not it is "worth it" is subjective, but the PS2 does make a difference, even on 91. I too had to put 275s on the rear to keep it from slipping under heavy throttle. Here is a recent log of my car on 91 octane (Wedge tuned): http://http://datazap.me/u/drrobert/mhd-98g0b-91oct-ps2-v9-cw?log=0&data=3-13 |

*** To the OP you can still have good gains with 91 octane. Boost is boost, bigger turbos are still bigger turbos. More air, more fuel - more power. |

I have pretty much the same setup as Dr. Robert, Pure stage 2 on 91 octane Wedge MHD tune. The car runs flawless, Ken built me an extremely stable 91 octane tune that I have been running for at least 6 month hiccup free.

I have a Wagner high flow cat downpipe and a ETS 5" FMIC. I am also running BMW N20 spark plugs gapped at .018". They are one step colder. No meth or ethanol. I am going to get an E30 or E40 tune from Wedge once I install a stage 2 lpfp and Wavetrac LSD.
