Problem with Order of Contacts in Phone Book
I just picked up an '09 E90 over the weekend and my iphone 3G pairs with the iDrive almost seemlessly, except that all my contacts come in as Last Name, First Name format. I looked around for similar posts, and one suggested to switch the order of my contacts in my phone, then re-pair but that didn't work for me.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? I basically just want the order of the phone book to be alphabetized by first name, not last. |

I have the same problem. I have a 2008 E90 with a 1st gen iPhone. I originally had my address book in the car sorted by first name. I noticed it got screwed up when I updated my iPhone firmware to V2.1. You have to fully delete the connection to your stereo and re-pair with your sort order set to "first, last". I prefer having it sorted by last name, so I just put up with it. I might try to mess with it again and see if I can figure it out.

Same here with Blackberry Bold
So it's not an Iphone issue should be something with the I-Drive software ! I try everything and no luck until now if someone managed to reverse first name ? Wbr |

Weird. I have a Touch Pro...my contacts on my phone are reversed (last name, first name), but they come out just fine (first name, last name) in the car.
..it's got to be the way the phone sends the contacts thru bluetooth. |

Sorting Normal Here
I use Nokia e71 (unlocked) and they sort by first name. My phone sorts them the other way.
Also, I notice that the car doesn't display all the phone entries (mobile home, mobile work, home, car, etc.) I may have for a given contact. |

With a few simple steps, you can remove all the contacts on your iPhone in a flash. First, open your iPhone’s contacts app. Click the Edit button. Next, swipe right to left over the contacts you’d like to remove. Once you’ve selected all the contacts, you can delete them from your iPhone.
